The trailer for the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie is finally here, and fans immediately started analyzing every detail. The biggest surprise so far is that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will now be able to create webs organically, just like Tobey Maguire did in earlier films.
I’ve been pouring over the new trailer like everyone else, and it’s amazing how much speculation there is! People are really digging for clues, and a lot of us think Sony might be intentionally leaving out other heroes to keep things under wraps. Honestly, they’ve pulled this trick before – hiding major characters in trailers to save the biggest surprises for the actual movie.
Fans have spotted something curious in a Brazilian trailer that might reveal when Peter Parker gets his powers in the new movie. It suggests he could gain them much earlier in this sequel than many people think.
Difference Between Original & International Trailer for Brand New Day
The first trailer for Brand New Day shows Spider-Man using his mechanical web-shooters throughout the entire chase scene with the armored truck and the Punisher’s van. You can even clearly see them on his wrists when he’s thrown against a bus window.

One notable change in the Brazilian trailer appears when Spider-Man is pulled along by the truck near the bus window – his web-shooters are inexplicably gone. This is strange because it’s the only time this happens in the international trailer.

It’s worth noting that during the filmed chase scene, both Tom Holland and his stunt double were still using the mechanical webshooters. This suggests the brief appearance of the CGI webs in the trailer might have been a simple error – the Brazilian social media team may have received an older version of the video file.

Brazil has accidentally revealed spoilers before. For example, they released a trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home that showed a character, The Lizard, being hit by something unseen – which fans quickly realized was likely Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.
This minor issue in Brazil shouldn’t significantly impact the upcoming film. However, it raises an interesting point about how Spider-Man will gain his natural web-shooting ability in the new movie, Brand New Day, which comes out on July 31st.
Spider-Man Has His Organic Webbing Earlier Than Expected
It’s also possible Peter Parker is relying on his natural web-slinging abilities throughout the chase. It would have been strange for Tom Holland to film that scene without web-shooters on his suit, particularly since the trailer hinted at his new, Raimi-style powers.
This chase scene would fit the story well, showing Peter successfully using his organic webbing for the first time to stop a major crime – an armored truck pursued by the Punisher. It would highlight how much he relies on his powers and his role as Spider-Man, and even demonstrate how they’re helping him grow into a more capable hero.
This is a stark contrast to Tobey Maguire’s story in Spider-Man 2, where he lost his powers because he wasn’t fully dedicated to being a hero. Instead, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Brand New Day risks becoming completely overtaken by his superhero side by giving up his life as Peter Parker, potentially transforming into a monstrous, spider-like creature without even realizing it.
