Marlon Wayans Mentions Sinners, Longlegs And Other A+ Horror Flicks While Teasing Scary Movie 6 Plans, And I’m So Ready To See This

For a while now, rebooted franchises and new horror movies have been dominating the movie scene. Given the oversaturated market, it’s no wonder that the Scary Movie franchise made its comeback to take advantage of the trending materials. As we approach the 2026 premiere of Scary Movie 6, co-creator Marlon Wayans has unveiled some intriguing titles they plan to feature. With Longlegs and Sinners being two films on the list, I can hardly wait to catch this exciting new chapter!

If you’re not already aware, the humor series known as “Scary Movie” was initially created back in 2000 by brothers Marlon and Shawn Wayans. Although the Wayans family was only involved in the first two films, many consider the debut to be their finest work out of all films produced by any member of the family. Exciting news emerged last fall that the duo is coming back to write and produce the sixth installment, and fans have been eagerly anticipating it ever since.

Prior to the upcoming thriller starring the actor-comedian, titled “Him,” set for release on September 19 in the year 2025, he spoke with ComicBook.com about the film’s genre. As expected, discussions revolved around the iconic parody series that he and his brother created, with updates on “Scary Movie 6” being shared. While development is ongoing, the star of “White Chicks” offered some tantalizing hints regarding the project, including his enthusiasm for it and some potential fantastic titles.

To put it simply, I’m quite fond of the entire horror genre. I believe there could be potential in “I Know What You Did Last Summer”. The “Scream” series is consistently impressive, and I find “Heretic” to be an exceptional film. “Longlegs”, “Get Out”, “Nope”, and many more terrifying masterpieces are at our disposal for inspiration. We’re eagerly looking forward to a fantastic time exploring these horror classics, which we’ve dubbed “Sinners”.

I was quite thrilled, even without any teasing, as the Wayans Brothers were connected to SM once more (they split after the second one). Knowing the family was back gave me confidence in the upcoming sequel. However, I hadn’t anticipated just how much content they would have at their disposal! Besides some of the recent and acclaimed horror films he mentioned, such as Sinners, Heretic, and the Jordan Peele universe, there’s around 20 years worth of material to draw from.

Following the announcement of the sixth film, enthusiasts have been brainstorming their own suggestions. There’s been a wide range of concepts thrown around, from ideas for a new take on Nosferatu to a funny weapons scenario for SM6. More recently, online discussions have revolved around merging classic franchises like these with modern horror. If I could be a fly on the wall in that room, the potential combinations would be fascinating and almost limitless.

Upon Catching a Glimpse of the Trailer for Him, There’s an Acting Role that Left Me Astounded; I Can’t Wait to Witness More of It!

The upcoming movie “Scary Movie 6” is expected to delve into new terrains, and it’s unclear exactly how characters like Brenda Meeks will be integrated. I can’t wait for its premiere on June 12, 2026, hoping that Marlon Wayans keeps revealing more details about the film and sharing insights into which classic horror films might be incorporated into the plot. Until then, you can enjoy the first two installments of the series by subscribing to Paramount+.
