It’s the perfect season to enjoy a thrilling supernatural TV series drama: Happy 828 Day, Manifest enthusiasts! Despite the series initially airing on NBC, getting cancelled, and then being renewed for Season 4 for Netflix subscribers, its final chapter has been written. However, this doesn’t stop fans from yearning to revisit the world that was dramatically shaken by Flight 828’s disappearance (and reappearance). The creator, Jeff Rake, has continued his tradition of informing fans about potential spinoffs on August 28 each year, and his latest update offers a mix of intrigue and excitement.
A full year has passed since Jeff Rake announced that while they hadn’t received final approval yet, he and his team were tirelessly working to deliver the spinoff you’ve been eagerly waiting for. Although a spinoff hasn’t launched by 828 Day 2025, his Instagram post remains inspiring, hinting at continued efforts behind the scenes.

Fans of the show “Manifest” can always look forward to some positive news every year on August 28th, as that’s when updates about the series often come out. Additionally, Netflix announced the renewal for Season 4 of the show on August 28th, 2021, a day known as “828 Day.” It seems good fortune is often in store for fans of “Manifest” on this special day!
As a passionate movie enthusiast, it seems like a potential spinoff may be in the works someday, perhaps reuniting Melissa Roxburgh from “The Hunting Party” as Michaela once more, or possibly focusing on an entirely fresh set of characters. However, it might still be a while before we hear any concrete news about this project. Yet, just the thought of original series cast members like Jared Grimes and Garrett Wareing engaging in conversation about it makes me excited!
In the television series Manifest, Grimes starred as Adrian across nineteen episodes spanning all four seasons. On the other hand, Wareing portrayed TJ Morrison in a total of eighteen episodes from Seasons 2 and 4. Both actors made these remarks:
- @grimeystepz: “Aaaaaaayyyyeeeeee šš¾”
- @garrettwareing: “Happy 828!!”
Several supporters also voiced their opinions, showing that Jeff Rake isn’t alone in his enthusiasm for celebrating 828 Day and Manifest annually. Over on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), here are some of the encouraging messages the creator received after posting: [Edited for content and clarity]
- @nickjismymuse: “Yearly reminder of good luck with spinoff [of] Manifest.”
- @828ride_or_die: “Support of execs and producers sounds promising! Weāll be here waiting, always!”
- @Gehan_51100: “Happy 828 Day, dear Fellow Manifesters”
- @melacholiaaa: “Amazing show. Amazing casting. Amazing producers. Thank you.”
- @Manifest_Italy: “Happy 828 Day, Jeff. Always keeping faith.”
In simpler terms, most TV shows wouldn’t manage to maintain audience interest for a spinoff more than two years post-second finale. However, Manifest has surprised everyone by not just surviving but thriving beyond expectations. Normally, a series would be considered finished after being cancelled by its original network, but NBC’s decision to cancel Manifest was merely the start of an interesting turn of events.
In July 2021, the first two seasons of the show swiftly climbed to Netflix’s Top 10 list. After the release of Season 3 later that year, it pushed Manifest out of the Top 10 and back in again. The streaming platform’s success ultimately led to a renewal for Season 4.
It’s uncertain if Jeff Rake will have anything new to share about 828 Day in 2026, given the show’s history of cancellations. However, fans can re-watch the original series on Netflix and brainstorm ideas for potential spinoffs.
