After much speculation, a new report has confirmed the villain for the next Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow.
Who is the Man of Tomorrow villain?
A recent report from TheWrap confirms that Brainiac, a classic Superman foe, will be the villain in the upcoming “Man of Tomorrow” movie. Fans had long suspected this, especially after James Gunn hinted at the character’s inclusion in the script, and now it’s officially confirmed.
The upcoming movie will reportedly feature an unlikely team-up between Superman and Lex Luthor, and Brainiac will be the villain they must join forces to defeat. According to TheWrap, production is scheduled to begin in April, with filming taking place in Atlanta. The film is currently slated for release in theaters on July 9, 2027.
Currently, not much is known about the upcoming film, Man of Tomorrow, except that it’s scheduled to be released on July 9, 2027, and will feature David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan.
Superman is often called ‘The Man of Tomorrow,’ and some DC comic book series have even used that name as their official title. A 2020 animated movie was also titled Superman: Man of Tomorrow. It’s currently unknown if the new DC Universe movie will draw inspiration from these earlier works.
