Man of Tomorrow: James Gunn Debunks Rumor Regarding DCU’s [Spoiler]

James Gunn has debunked a casting rumor regarding Man of Tomorrow.

The upcoming movie ‘Man of Tomorrow’ is a sequel to the 2025 ‘Superman’ film, produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. James Gunn will direct, with David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult returning as Superman/Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, respectively.

What Man of Tomorrow rumor did James Gunn debunk?

I was scrolling through Threads and saw James Gunn addressing a rumor about his upcoming ‘Man of Tomorrow’ movie. Apparently, someone – the scooper Daniel Richtman – mentioned they were casting a big new male character, and fans immediately started guessing it could be Steve Trevor or even Batman! Gunn chimed in to respond to the speculation about Steve Trevor specifically.

“Nope,” Gunn simply said when responding to the Steve rumor.

Given the buzz around DCU, it’s understandable fans are speculating Steve Trevor might show up in ‘Man of Tomorrow,’ especially with rumors suggesting Wonder Woman could also be in the film. In the comics, Steve and Wonder Woman often have a close relationship, but so far, no one involved with the movie has confirmed Diana will appear.

Man of Tomorrow arrives in United States theaters on July 9, 2027.

You can now watch Superman on HBO Max. It’s the second project in the new DC Universe being created by James Gunn and Peter Safran, following the Creature Commandos series. The movie, coming to theaters this summer, reimagines the classic Superman story with a mix of action, comedy, and emotion. James Gunn’s take focuses on Superman’s kindness and his unwavering faith in people.
