Major Defenders Star Hypes Up MCU Return In Daredevil: Born Again After 7 Years

It’s official—Marvel is bringing The Defenders back together.

After a decade since the previous Daredevil series, “Daredevil: Born Again” is back with Charlie Cox reprising his role as the hero. The cast also includes returning favorites Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Wilson Bethel, as well as new faces like Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, and Zabryna Guevara. The first season premiered in 2025, and the second is scheduled for 2026.

As a fan, I was so excited to hear that the old Daredevil show wasn’t a completely separate world! It actually connected to Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Punisher. We even got a team-up with The Defenders back then, which was amazing. Now, almost ten years later, it’s incredible to see Marvel bringing those characters back into the main MCU! The first big piece of news is that Krysten Ritter, who I’ve loved as Jessica Jones since 2015, is confirmed to return.

Ritter recently discussed returning to her popular Marvel character, highlighting the work that went into recreating her signature look. On the official Daredevil Instagram page, the actress showed off Jessica’s famous leather jacket. Ritter shared that the jacket she’s wearing in Born Again is actually a new one, but she does know what happened to the original.

She jokingly said she ‘stole’ her original jacket from the first series and held onto it. She then gave it to the costume designer for the Daredevil: Born Again reboot, and they rebuilt the entire look. Ritter praised the new jacket, explaining how important it is to Jessica’s character.

Jessica doesn’t dress up as a traditional superhero. Instead, she uses clothing – almost like armor – to feel strong, confident, and safe, while still fitting in with everyday street style. She feels empowered by this jacket and believes she can handle anything while wearing it.

J.K. Ritter recently revealed her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an interview with Ebaster, explaining that fan demand made it happen. She said it felt like no time had passed at all when she stepped back into the role, and that’s likely how her fellow actors felt too—it was exciting to be back thanks to the fans.

Per Ritter explained that playing a character for an extended period becomes deeply ingrained, and she enjoys exploring new layers within that role. While she didn’t reveal specifics about her storyline in the upcoming ‘Born Again’ arc, she expressed enthusiasm for the show’s direction, calling it “really cool.” She’s also thrilled to reprise an iconic character that she deeply loves and admires.

Daredevil: Born Again releases new episodes on Tuesdays at 9:00pm ET only on Disney+.
