DC’s 2025 initiative, DC All-In, has been a major success. But that was only the first step. Next year will bring significant changes to the Batman comics as DC All-In enters its second phase. A key development will be a character who used to be a villain – and recently became a more heroic figure – reverting to their villainous ways in a brand new capacity.

Gotham City has faced major shifts in the last year. Vandal Savage’s purchase of the Police Commissioner position has turned Batman and his allies into outlaws once more. Just as they begin to fight for justice and reveal the city’s corruption, an old acquaintance – now an enemy again – is about to create new obstacles.

A new story arc will see Poison Ivy unexpectedly become the mayor of Gotham City. However, she won’t be an ally to Batman. Instead, she’s teaming up with Vandal Savage to intensify their conflict with the Bat-Family. This storyline begins in Batman #7, written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Jorge Jiménez, and will continue in the monthly Poison Ivy comic, starting with issue #42, written by G. Willow Wilson and illustrated by Marcio Takara.

Poison Ivy’s recent change of heart is a huge surprise. For years, she’s been stepping back from conflict, focusing on secretly creating a better world.
