The new film, In Cold Light, features an impressive cast including Troy Kotsur, the Academy Award winner from CODA, and Helen Hunt, who has won four Emmys and an Oscar for her work in films like Twister. In Cold Light Debuted at the Tribeca Festival in 2025
Though it doesn’t hit theaters until later this month, In Cold Light premiered at the Tribeca Festival on June 7, 2025. Early reviews have praised the film’s thrilling action and complex characters. Stephen Farber of The Hollywood Reporter noted that the filmmakers skillfully make audiences sympathize with the protagonist, even within a dark and gritty world, calling it a commendable accomplishment.
Julian Roman of MovieWeb rated the film 3.5 out of 5 stars, describing it as a visually impressive thriller. He especially highlighted the performances of Monroe and Kotsur. Roman also noted that the film is a striking and realistic English-language debut for French-Canadian director Maxime Giroux.
In Cold Light will arrive in theaters on Jan. 23, 2026.
