
Peter Mullan, a star of the Prime Video series The Rings of Power, was recently injured after intervening in an assault outside a concert venue. Court documents revealed he was attacked while trying to help a woman who was being assaulted.
Dylan Bennet was given an 18-month jail sentence after being convicted of assaulting both Mullan and another woman, according to a report from BBC News and the Glasgow Sheriff Court in Scotland.
In September 2025, actor Graham Mullan attempted to help a woman who was crying near the O2 Academy in Glasgow, according to BBC News. While trying to intervene, Mullan, known for his role as the Dwarven king in Rings of Power, was reportedly headbutted by a man named Bennet, causing a head injury. The court also heard that Bennet was holding a glass bottle during the incident, and was threatening both Mullan and the woman.
Bennet’s lawyer stated that his client had been drinking and using drugs the night of the incident and is very sorry for what happened.
Besides The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Bennett has also been in The Witcher, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, I Swear, and Top of the Lake.

The show initially launched in 2022, although filming began in February 2020. Production on the first season was briefly paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but resumed in September 2020. The second season was filmed from October 2022 to June 2023 and released in August 2024. Considering how long previous seasons took to make, it may be a while before fans see new episodes.
Season 3 will feature some new faces! Andrew Richardson (known for Extrapolations), Zubin Varla (Andor), and Adam Young (The Witcher: Blood Origins) are joining the show. Richardson will be a main cast member, and Varla and Young will appear in multiple episodes throughout the season.
Details about the upcoming season are still scarce, but Prime Video has revealed a brief summary confirming a significant leap forward in time. According to the summary, Season 3 is set during the peak of the war between the Elves and Sauron. Sauron is actively trying to create the One Ring, hoping it will give him the power to win the war and finally conquer Middle-earth.
The fantasy series The Rings of Power received seven Emmy nominations. The show features Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Charlie Vickers as Sauron, and Robert Aramayo as Elrond.
