Peter Mullan, a star on Amazon’s The Rings of Power, was injured after intervening in an assault outside a concert. Court documents revealed that Mullan, who plays King Durin III, was attacked while trying to help a woman who was being assaulted.
Dylan Bennet received an 18-month jail sentence after being convicted of assaulting both Mullan and another woman, according to a report from BBC News and the Glasgow Sheriff Court in Scotland.
In September 2025, actor Graham Mullan attempted to help a woman who was crying near the O2 Academy in Glasgow, according to BBC News. While trying to intervene, Mullan, known for his role as the Dwarven king in Rings of Power, was reportedly headbutted by a man named Bennet, causing a head injury. The court also heard that Bennet was holding a glass bottle during the incident, threatening both Mullan and the woman.
Bennet’s lawyer stated that his client had been drinking and using drugs the night of the incident and is very sorry for what happened.
Besides The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Bennett has also been in The Witcher, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, I Swear, and Top of the Lake.
Season three of The Rings of Power is coming to Prime Video, though a release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. News emerged in November 2025 that the
When Could Fans Expect Season 3?
The show debuted in 2022, though filming actually began in February 2020. Production on the first season was briefly paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but resumed in September 2020. The second season was filmed from October 2022 to June 2023 and launched in August 2024. Considering how long it takes to make each season, fans may have a wait before new episodes are released.
Season 3 will feature some new faces! Andrew Richardson (known for Extrapolations), Zubin Varla (Andor), and Adam Young (The Witcher: Blood Origins) are joining the cast. Richardson will be a main character, while Varla and Young will appear in multiple episodes throughout the season.
Okay, so details have been pretty scarce about the new season, but Prime Video just dropped a little hint, and it’s HUGE! Apparently, Season 3 jumps ahead several years after where we left off. We’re talking the peak of the war between the Elves and Sauron, and it’s all about him trying to forge the One Ring. He needs that ring to finally tip the scales and conquer Middle-earth – it’s going to be epic!
As a critic, I’m keeping a close eye on The Rings of Power, and it’s no surprise it’s garnered seven Emmy nominations. The show features some fantastic performances, particularly from Morfydd Clark, who really shines as Galadriel, along with Charlie Vickers as Sauron and Robert Aramayo taking on the role of Elrond.
The first two seasons of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power are streaming on Prime Video.
