Lex Luthor Has Finally Found a Way to Defeat Superman Once and for All

Lex Luthor, Superman’s greatest enemy, is arguably the most well-known villain ever. Even though he’s incredibly intelligent and wealthy, Luthor frequently fails because he underestimates anyone who isn’t Superman. This is highlighted in the newest issue of DC K.O., where Luthor reveals his newest weapon designed to defeat Kryptonians.

DC K.O. #3, written by Scott Snyder and illustrated by Javier Fernández, moves forward in the battle for Darkseid’s power. The remaining eight fighters had to team up with a fallen opponent for the third round, leading to a showdown between Lex Luthor and Aquaman, who were aided by Supergirl and Hawkman respectively.

Initially, it appeared Lex Luthor had made a significant mistake. The fighters he’d selected weren’t obligated to stay loyal to each other, so it wasn’t surprising when Supergirl immediately attacked Superman’s greatest foe. However, this was exactly what Luthor intended.

What is Lex Luthor’s ultimate weapon?

As expected, Luthor’s power armor contained Kryptonite. But instead of using standard green Kryptonite, which only weakens Superman, he had created his own version. Called “Designer K,” this synthetic Kryptonite combined the effects of three different natural types, making it far more potent.

Supergirl unexpectedly turned into a massive, aggressive fighter. Losing control, she quickly defeated both Hawkman and Aquaman. Lex Luthor was declared the victor and moved on to the fourth round of the competition.

While Superman didn’t achieve the clear win over Luthor he’d hoped for, the battle successfully demonstrated Designer K’s capabilities. Unfortunately, it also meant Superman had to helplessly witness his cousin’s death once more during the tournament.
