A recent report offers new details about a character’s appearance in the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While there’s been a lot of talk about familiar actors potentially returning, it seems this particular role might be smaller than initially thought.
Don’t expect Luke Cage to have a huge role in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2
Recent reports suggest Luke Cage, played by Mike Colter, will make a brief appearance in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. According to a reliable source, his role will be a cameo rather than a significant part of the story.
According to a new report from inside sources, Season 2 could see the return of the superhero team The Defenders, with Luke Cage and Danny Rand (played by Finn Jones) expected to reappear. Krysten Ritter is also set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones, suggesting we might see several characters crossing over into each other’s stories.
It’s still unclear what Mike Colter’s future holds in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and details about his character remain a mystery. We also don’t yet know how significant the roles of Danny Rand and Jessica Jones will be.
Okay, so “Daredevil: Born Again” picks up right where the old Netflix series left off, and honestly, that’s a huge relief! Charlie Cox is fantastic as Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio is terrifyingly good as Wilson Fisk – seeing them both back is a major win. It’s great to see some familiar faces returning too, like Deborah Ann Woll and Ayelet Zurer. The whole thing is being overseen by a solid team of producers – Dario Scardapane, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Brad Winderbaum – so I’m cautiously optimistic about where this is going.
The second season will star Lili Taylor as the Governor of New York and Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles, a powerful adversary to Fisk. You can start watching it on Disney+ next month, and a third season is already in the works!
As a huge Marvel fan, I’m really excited to hear that everything Marvel Television is making is all connected! It sounds like characters will be popping up in different episodes, which is awesome. And the rumors about the Defenders showing up seem to be true! Though, apparently, Luke Cage’s part will be pretty small – just a quick cameo, it seems.
Season 2 premieres on Disney+ on March 24, 2026.
