A scary new movie is coming to theaters this month, and it’s promising to be a truly frightening experience! We’re excited to share two exclusive posters for the film, which will be released in special 4DX and ScreenX formats on April 17th. You can get your tickets now!
This new take on The Mummy story centers around a family whose daughter, Katie, mysteriously vanished eight years ago. When she’s unexpectedly found alive – inside an ancient sarcophagus – they’re overjoyed, but quickly realize something is terribly wrong. The film follows their desperate attempt to uncover the truth behind her disappearance, a quest that will determine if they all survive. The recently released posters hint at the darkness Katie brings with her, visually capturing the evil that has taken hold.
The 4DX poster features a terrifying close-up of Katie screaming, set against a backdrop of strange writing. This same writing appears inside the sarcophagus she finds in the trailer for The Mummy. It’s not Egyptian hieroglyphics, but it clearly signals danger. The ScreenX poster is different, showing Katie as a dark shape in front of a pyramid. Beams of light shoot out from an open doorway, appearing to cut across the entire image. Both posters create a sense of dread, hinting at the immersive and frightening experience the film offers in these premium formats.
Experience Lee Cronin’s The Mummy In 4DX & ScreenX
While The Mummy appears frightening on screen, horror movies are usually safe because you’re just watching from a distance. But if you really want to be scared, check out one of the two immersive theater experiences launching on April 17th. They’re designed to make you feel like you’re in the movie, eliminating that sense of security.
ScreenX theaters offer a unique movie experience by projecting films onto three screens joined together. This creates one massive, panoramic view that wraps around the sides of the theater, giving viewers a 270-degree display. It’s so immersive, it makes looking away during intense moments almost impossible!
4DX takes movie immersion to the next level. These theaters use physical effects you can feel during the film, like moving seats, vibrations, water sprays, and even scents. It’s perfect for intense moments like jump scares, but imagine how realistic the experience could be with a movie like The Mummy – you might even be able to smell what’s on screen!
