28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’s reviews are in
Directed by Nia DaCosta and featuring Ralph Fiennes, The Bone Temple is the next chapter in the story that began with 28 Days Later. It was filmed alongside 28 Years Later and is the fourth film in the series.
Reviewers generally applauded DaCosta’s directing and the film’s overall quality. Johnny Oleksinski of the New York Post highlighted her talent for creating fear, praising her visually striking and unflinching direction that consistently evokes strong reactions. Peter Debruge of Variety noted the film is a smart and innovative zombie movie that will appeal to fans of the genre.
In The Times, Kevin Maher commended Ralph Fiennes’s dedication, stating his performance was so captivating it resembled a thrilling, energetic one-person stage show. David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter specifically praised the film’s music, calling Hildur Gudnadottir’s horror score particularly powerful.
The film didn’t receive universal praise. Jonathan Sim from ComingSoon.net found it odd, unsettling, and sometimes irritating, noting that while it aimed high, it lacked a consistent tone.
