Landman’s Jacob Lofland Teases More Twists And Turns To Come

Jacob Lofland, known for his role in Landman, hints that the show will continue to deliver unexpected twists and turns as the story unfolds.

In Landman season 2, Landon Lofland plays Cooper Norris, the son of Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton). A disturbing relationship develops between Cooper and cartel leader Gallino (Andy Garcia), and Cooper remains largely unaware of just how involved Gallino is in criminal activity.

I watched as Gallino initially charmed Cooper, presenting himself as a kind of benefactor with an offer that seemed almost unbelievably good. It was frustrating, because Cooper was so caught up in his own dreams he couldn’t see the warning signs. To Lofland, though, the deal looked completely real – a genuine opportunity to finally make a name for himself and escape his father’s influence. Even though Cooper was starting to suspect Gallino wasn’t entirely trustworthy, he had no idea just how much danger he was really walking into. It was heartbreaking to watch him being led on.

In the latest episode, Tommy finally tells his son who Gallino really is. But, according to an interview with TVLine, the son still doesn’t understand the full extent of the danger. The actor playing the son explained that Tommy didn’t give him the complete story, essentially lying by leaving out crucial details – like witnessing Gallino kill four people during the first season of Landman.

Lofland hinted that his father is keeping a lot of secrets, some of which haven’t even been revealed to the audience yet. He suggested there are more surprising developments to come, and his character might discover he’s been misled before the end of season 2. He encouraged viewers to tune in to find out what happens.

He hasn’t fully realized the danger he’s in, and that’s the core of the situation. Tommy knows a lot more about Gallino than Cooper does, but he’s keeping a crucial secret: he witnessed Gallino kill four people last season, revealing the kind of person they’re dealing with. Cooper only senses there’s a problem, but he doesn’t know the extent of it yet. That truth will likely come out later—or maybe it won’t! There are still plenty of surprises and unexpected developments to come in the rest of the story.

Landman season 2 releases new episodes every Sunday at 12:00 AM ET exclusively on Paramount+.
