Landman Season 2 Episode 7 Romance & Relationships Explained

Be warned, this article reveals major plot points from Landman season 2, episode 7. This week’s episode heavily focused on the romantic lives of the characters, with significant developments for each couple. Almost everyone on Landman is involved in a relationship, and while these storylines usually play a smaller role, they were the main focus this week. The show’s usual focus on business and the oil rig took a backseat.

Although the latest episode of Landman didn’t focus heavily on the business aspects, it still featured significant events worth discussing. This week brought major shifts for several key characters, and also set the stage for potential future conflicts. Understanding how these relationships are evolving is crucial as the story progresses.

Cooper Finally Proposed To Ariana In Landman Season 2, Episode 7

After overcoming several obstacles, Cooper was able to propose to Ariana in season 2, episode 7 of Landman. He had to work hard to regain Ariana’s trust after being asked to leave, travel to Corpus Christi to ask her father for permission, and even pass a test set by Elvio’s grandmother. Once he’d completed everything and received Angela’s engagement ring, he finally proposed.

In season 2, episode 7 of Landman, Cooper proposed to Ariana by leading her to the back porch with a path of rose petals. He told her, “Forever will be over before you know it, so we better not waste a moment of it.” Considering their previous discussion about how the wedding itself isn’t the most important thing in a marriage, it seems likely that Cooper and Ariana will tie the knot before the end of season 2.

Tommy Listened To TL’s Advice & Decided To Start Enjoying Life

A major turning point for Tommy happened in season 2, episode 7 of Landman. While on the road with TL, Tommy’s father pointed out that he was constantly running from issues instead of appreciating his life. Tommy seemed to really listen, and later told Angela he wanted to focus on enjoying life and expressing his love for her.

Tommy’s decision to take advice and focus on a more fulfilling life, instead of repeating his father’s mistakes, could significantly impact the next season of Landman. This change will likely improve his relationship with Angela, and he might even begin prioritizing family time over his work at M-Tex. This shift could come at the right moment, as Tommy’s position as president of M-Tex may not be secure for much longer.

Nate Forced Rebecca To Acknowledge Her Relationship With Charlie

This week on Landman, the romance between Rebecca and Charlie took a significant turn. After Rebecca spent the night at Charlie’s camper and mistakenly called him ‘Charlie’ instead of ‘Charles,’ Nate realized they were involved. Nate then pressured Rebecca to sign a conflict of interest form, informing M-Tex’s management about their relationship, as Charlie is her subordinate.

I felt so bad for Rebecca when she had to sign that conflict form. It was basically an admission that she’d broken company rules by having a relationship with an employee, and even though Tommy tried to reassure her about keeping her job, I worried about the fallout for Landman. Tommy was right to tell Nate that maybe airing all of this wasn’t a good idea, and honestly, I think he had a really valid point. It just seemed like a messy situation that could really hurt everyone involved.

As a film buff, I’m seeing some serious tension brewing! It’s easy to imagine Rebecca taking Nate’s pushback as a direct attack, and honestly, Tommy’s right – you do not want to get on her bad side. Even if she keeps her job, this whole thing with Charlie is now officially documented, and Rebecca is fiercely ambitious – her career is everything to her. I’m calling it now: before this Landman season wraps up, Nate and Rebecca are going to be locked in a full-blown conflict.

Landman Season 2’s Offshore Rig Situation Explained

Emerson Miller/Paramount+

Episode 7 didn’t spend much time on the business aspects of M-Tex, but there was an important update regarding the repair of the offshore natural gas rig. Charlie explained the geology of the rig to Rebecca, and essentially revealed that even if they fix it, there’s only a 10% chance it will actually produce gas. Considering M-Tex is investing $420 million in the rig, it’s a very risky venture.

Charlie figured out the rig explosion wasn’t due to the hurricane, but likely stemmed from underlying geological issues. Nate then understood Monty’s scheme: Monty was aware the rig was a long shot, so he collected the insurance money and decided he’d have a better chance of success by fighting the claim in court rather than repairing the damaged platform.

Nate and Rebecca are now joining Monty in pursuing legal action against the insurance company for fraud, rather than rebuilding the rig. First, they need to explain this decision to Tommy, and more crucially, get Cami on board. This could be difficult, though, since Cami currently wants to use money from Gallino to complete the rebuild.

Okay, so I’m really worried about what’s going to happen next on Landman. Even if Nate, Rebecca, and Tommy can get Cami to sue instead of just fixing the oil rig, I think they’re going to run into major trouble with Gallino. This rig is everything to him – it’s his way into M-Tex and he’s been practically begging Tommy for a chance to get into the oil business. I have a feeling he’ll do absolutely anything to get Cami to rebuild the well, and that’s going to cause a huge showdown between everyone involved. It’s setting up for a really intense next few episodes!
