The parental journey of Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson has been a rollercoaster, marked by scandals. In 2018, just days before she gave birth to daughter True, news broke about his infidelity. Then, in 2022, shortly after learning they were expecting Tatum, Khloé discovered he had fathered another child with someone else. So, how is co-parenting for the exes? Khloé recently shared an update, revealing that Tristan’s NBA career has surprisingly aided their children in understanding and coping with their separation.
Supporters of “The Kardashians” (anticipated to debut this fall according to the 2025 TV lineup) have been privy to much drama between Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson. Despite recurring speculation about their potential reconciliation, it appears their relationship has ended permanently. On her “Khloé In Wonder Land” podcast, Kardashian discussed the dynamics of their co-parenting arrangement, explaining:
In terms of co-parenting, there’s little to no conflict between Tristan and me. While other aspects of our relationship may have their ups and downs, when it comes to parenting, we work together effortlessly. To put it simply, Tristan and I make great co-parents. I am truly thankful for this smooth collaboration. I appreciate that Tristan trusts me as a mother, which means I face minimal resistance or questioning of my decisions.
It’s wonderful to see that co-parenting with True and Tatum doesn’t cause stress for Khloé Kardashian.
Due to Tristan Thompson’s ongoing NBA career, which has kept him with the Cleveland Cavaliers for several seasons and currently leaves him as an unrestricted free agent, he only gets to see his children during games in Los Angeles or visits to Ohio, or during the offseason. When he’s traveling, though, he makes sure to connect with them daily via Facetime, as their mother shared.

Hulu offers a 30-day free trial for both its Ad-Supported and Ad-Free plans, granting access to a wide range of content, including original series like “The Kardashians.” Eligible new and returning customers can take advantage of this offer, with plans starting at $9.99 per month after the initial 30 days. According to Khloe Kardashian, the arrangement seems to be working for them, and because he’s been away traveling nearly half the year since their children were born, they haven’t noticed any significant changes when she eventually ended her relationship with their father. In her own words, she stated:
It seems to me that having Tristan in the NBA, given our initial bond but current separation, likely contributed significantly to the smooth co-parenting experience for True and Tatum. They didn’t perceive any significant shift, such as “Oh, my dad is absent more frequently now.” This was due to his demanding career. Instead, they were aware of his frequent absences, yet the frequency and quality of communication via Facetime remained consistent.
In their situation, the split between Tristan Thompson wasn’t something dramatic or complicated – even though they had lived together prior to his house flooding due to a roof collapse in 2023 – as True Thompson had grown accustomed to her father being absent due to his basketball commitments.
It’s great if things remain peaceful for these two (and their children), as they have been through many challenges. Let’s see if we’ll get a glimpse of that storyline when The Kardashians comes back for Season 7. Until then, you can catch up on the first six seasons by subscribing to Hulu.
