Kevin Spacey Faces New Allegations of Sexual Assault with Trial Set for 2026

The actor’s plans for a Hollywood return are likely delayed, as he’s now facing fresh sexual assault allegations. He recently discussed wanting to revive his career, describing a life where he travels from job to job, essentially living without a permanent home as he seeks out acting roles.

Kevin Spacey’s career took a major hit in 2017 when actor Anthony Rapp accused him of sexual assault and battery. Over a dozen others then came forward with similar accusations. As a result, Spacey was quickly removed from several projects, including the film All the Money in the World – which had to be reshot with Christopher Plummer replacing him – and was fired from the final season of the TV series House of Cards.

Despite numerous trials, Spacey had never been convicted of any crime. Cases often fell apart because of legal time limits, victims being unwilling to testify, or accusers passing away. Most recently, in 2023, a British court found him not guilty on nine of twelve charges, and prosecutors dropped the remaining three.

Kevin Spacey is scheduled to return to court in October 2026, according to the BBC. He will face civil lawsuits from three British men who claim the actor assaulted them between 2000 and 2013. The court may hear these cases in separate trials or combine them into one. Spacey has denied two of the allegations, but hasn’t yet responded to the third. Two of the men previously brought criminal charges against the actor.

Two of the men who accused Kevin Spacey have asked to remain anonymous, but a third has been identified as Ruari Cannon, an actor who says Spacey groped him at a party following a performance at the Old Vic theater. Cannon shared his story in the documentary Spacey Unmasked, which also featured nine other individuals who claim Spacey assaulted or sexually harassed them.

Will Kevin Spacey Ever Make a Hollywood Comeback?

In a recent interview, Kevin Spacey stated he’s determined to revive his acting career despite recent setbacks. While some actors successfully return to Hollywood after facing challenges, it appears increasingly unlikely for Spacey, especially with the new legal issues he’s facing.

If the outcome of this trial is similar to past cases, and Spacey is acquitted of all charges again, he’ll likely start looking for a studio willing to work with him once more.
