Keanu Reeves will be back as John Wick in a fifth movie, and he’s also starting a new action project. Although fans are still hoping for a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow, Reeves is working on a similar idea with a well-respected director known for superhero films.

Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in a new sci-fi action movie called Shiver, directed by Tim Miller, who also directed Deadpool. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie’s script, written by Ian Shorr, is being described as a mix of Edge of Tomorrow and The Shallows. Reeves will play a smuggler who gets trapped in a time loop after being betrayed during a job in the Caribbean. The film, which combines science fiction with a tropical setting, seems like a fresh and exciting take on the genre. Warner Bros. is close to securing the rights to the project.

The plot is still unclear, but rumors suggest the story follows a rogue smuggler working in the Caribbean. He gets caught in a dangerous betrayal, leaving him facing enemies, corpses, and even sharks. Things get even stranger when he’s trapped in a time loop and desperately tries to escape it.

Following their work together on the animated series Secret Level – which adapts popular video games and featured Keanu Reeves in an Armored Core episode – Reeves and Miller are teaming up again for Shiver. While Secret Level received mixed reviews, Reeves’ performance was widely praised. Joining them on Shiver are producers Matthew Vaughn, known for the Kingsman films, and Aaron Ryder, who has produced movies like Dumb Money and Pieces of a Woman.
