Justice League Parademons’ Return In Batman’s New Appearance Makes Me More Excited For 1 DC Project

I didn’t anticipate seeing Parademons in the new look for Batman, but their return from the DC Justice League movie has made me even more excited about the upcoming project. We first saw these characters in the 2017 live-action Justice League film, where Steppenwolf was the primary villain.

Besides Steppenwolf, the Justice League faced numerous Parademons in one of the more controversial DC movies. These are artificial creatures that fight for Darkseid’s forces. Considering previous Batman TV series have usually been realistic, it was unexpected to see Parademons appear in the latest one.

I Was Not Expecting Parademons To Appear In Batman’s New TV Show

Since the next big Batman movies – with Robert Pattinson returning in The Batman 2 and a complete reboot planned for the new DC Universe in The Brave and the Bold – are still a ways off, Batman fans might want to check out the animated options. DC recently released the unusual film Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, and now a new Batman series is available to stream on Prime Video.

Bat-Fam offers a new take on the world of the Bat-Family. Surprisingly, only the second episode of the 10-part series introduces the villainous Parademons, servants of Darkseid. They appear after a device called a Mother Box is accidentally turned on at S.T.A.R. Labs, creating a portal that allows the Parademons to cause destruction. Batman, his son Damian Wayne, and the daughters of Two-Face team up to defeat them.

Bat-Fam’s Parademons Make Me More Excited For DC’s Mister Miracle

The reappearance of Parademons in a DC project has increased my anticipation for the upcoming series that may bring them back. This show will heavily feature the New Gods and won’t involve the Justice League. It’s called Mister Miracle, and it will be based on the critically acclaimed limited comic book series written by Tom King.

The comic Mister Miracle centers on a master escape artist named Scott Free who struggles with depression and the lasting effects of his family history. Scott is the son of Highfather, the good ruler of New Genesis, but he was raised on the hellish planet Apokolips believing Darkseid was his father. Meanwhile, Orion – Darkseid’s actual son – was raised by Highfather as part of a deal to maintain peace between the two worlds.

Since Tom King is also running the show, I expect the Mister Miracle series to be as emotionally powerful as the comic books. And with James Gunn currently not planning to use Darkseid in the new DC Universe, Mister Miracle seems like the perfect place to really delve into that villain and his Parademons. Honestly, the news about Batman’s upcoming show just makes me even more excited about it all.
