The idea that everything is connected isn’t just for the Marvel movies. Scott Kreamer, a co-creator of the animated series, recently confirmed that the show is officially part of the larger story, just before it starts streaming on Netflix next month.
I was at New York Comic Con 2025 and finally got some answers from Kreamer about something that’s been bothering a lot of us. Everyone was worried that *Chaos Theory* and *Camp Cretaceous* were no longer considered official parts of the *Jurassic World* story after *Jurassic World Rebirth* came out. But Kreamer confirmed those shows are “absolutely” still canon! He even hinted that the final season of *Chaos Theory* will dive deeper into what the Nublar Six were doing during the events of *Jurassic World*. That’s a huge relief and I’m really excited to see where they take it.
Kreamer explained that the current storyline is unfolding alongside the events of *Dominion*, particularly in season 4. The *Rebirth* timeline is still set further in the future compared to *Chaos Theory*. They plan to revisit elements from *Dominion* but show them from different perspectives. This approach isn’t new to the animated series; *Camp Cretaceous* Season 1 jumped around in time, taking place before, during, and after the events of the 2015 *Jurassic World* film. Previous seasons of *Chaos Theory* also started connecting to *Dominion*, notably by introducing Soyona Santos, a character who first appeared in the 2022 movie and was played by Dichen Lachman.
What Happens in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 4?
Following the events of *Camp Cretaceous*, *Jurassic World: Chaos Theory* picks up six years later with the ‘Nublar Six’ trying to build new lives in a world now populated by dinosaurs and dangerous people. After a tragic event brings them back together, the group finds themselves on the run, embarking on a worldwide adventure to expose a conspiracy that threatens both dinosaurs and humans, and to discover what happened to a missing member. The final season, consisting of nine 22-minute episodes, will see the Nublar Six working together to survive the deadly threats hidden within Biosyn Valley.
It’s great to see so many familiar faces back for the new season! Paul-Mikél Williams is fantastic as Darius, and Sean Giambrone really shines as Ben. Darren Barnet returns as Kenji, alongside Raini Rodriguez as Sammy, Kausar Mohammed as Yasmina, and Kiersten Kelly as Brooklynn – I always think of them as ‘The Nublar Six,’ and they’ve all got amazing chemistry. Plus, Beatrice Granno, Adam Harrington, and Greg Chun are all back as Gia, Dodgson, and the ever-intriguing Dr. Wu, which adds a lot of depth to the story.
After the release of *Chaos Theory*, the *Jurassic World* series will move into a new phase that started this summer with *Jurassic World Rebirth*. This film introduced a fresh cast, led by Scarlett Johansson, and while it didn’t perform as well as previous *Jurassic World* movies, its $858 million worldwide earnings showed there’s still audience interest. Because of this, Universal is planning another installment featuring Johansson’s character, Zora Bennett, as the main star.
The fourth and final season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory arrives on Netflix on Nov. 20.
