Season 4 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory has moved from Netflix and also featured the apparent death of a famous dinosaur. Throughout the Jurassic Park films, many dinosaurs have been introduced, but the female Tyrannosaurus Rex, nicknamed Rexy, is arguably the most recognizable. She first appeared as a threat to Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) when the park on Isla Nublar failed in the original 1993 movie, but later saved Dr. Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and the children from the Velociraptors during the film’s exciting finale.
Though Rexy wasn’t in The Lost World or Jurassic Park 3, the famous T-Rex returned in the Jurassic World trilogy and appeared in the animated series Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory. Even when she frightened the characters in those animated shows, she was ultimately just acting naturally – either defending her home or looking for food. The recent final season of Chaos Theory gave Rexy one last starring role.
I’m so excited the final season of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is finally here! It’s Season 4, and it follows the story of the Nublar Six while the events of Jurassic World: Dominion from 2022 are happening at the same time. It dropped on Netflix on November 20, 2025, and I can’t wait to see what happens!
Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Highlights Rexy’s Final Appearance

Season 4 of Jurassic World: Chaos Theory concluded the story of Rexy, the iconic dinosaur from the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World films. This animated series effectively wrapped up her journey after she featured in four major movies.
Rexy, nicknamed “Big Eatie” by the group stranded on Isla Nublar during Camp Cretaceous, had a complex relationship with the main characters – sometimes she helped them, and other times she was a threat. In Season 5 of Camp Cretaceous, Rexy actually saved Darius Bowman – the group’s leader and a dinosaur expert – because she remembered he had helped her before, solidifying her role as a heroic dinosaur within the series.
In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, Rexy turned aggressive and attacked the Nublar Six after breaking free in Season 1. Many believe this behavior stemmed from the stress and trauma of being held captive.
Season 4 showed that Biosyn Genetics (the main villain in Jurassic World: Dominion) captured Rexy and put her in their Biosyn Valley habitat. This created a conflict with the Giganotosaurus, the valley’s current top predator. The series explained why Rexy lost to the Giganotosaurus in Jurassic World: Dominion – she had already lost a fight to it when she first arrived at Biosyn Valley.

The movie showed that Rexy, the T-Rex, lived through her fight with the Giganotosaurus in Dominion. The fourth season of Chaos Theory revealed even more, confirming that she later rescued the Nublar Six from a group of Atrociraptors, assisted by two other T-Rexes from the valley.
The final scene with Rexy in Chaos Theory is a perfect ending for the character. The subsequent series explores the dinosaur’s more human side, revealing both its strength and its weaknesses.
Why Rexy Didn’t Appear in Jurassic World: Rebirth, Explained

Okay, so “Jurassic World: Rebirth” definitely feels like a fresh start for the franchise. They’ve smartly moved away from the old guard and are really building things around new characters – specifically, Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey’s Henry Loomis. It’s a bold move, but I think it’s exactly what this series needed to reignite the excitement.
Despite being in the show Rebirth, Rexy the T-Rex wasn’t included in the 2025 Jurassic World film, and the reason is disappointing.
In Jurassic World: Rebirth, Rexy was around 39 years old, since the movie takes place in 2027. Considering that Tyrannosaurus Rex typically live only 27 to 30 years, Rexy’s long life may be because she was cloned. It’s likely she died at the beginning of the events shown in Rebirth, as that’s when the new story began.
As a huge fan, I was really curious why Rexy wasn’t in Jurassic World: Rebirth. The movie explained it by saying most dinosaurs couldn’t handle the current climate or new diseases and died out. Apparently, the few that did survive – like that unique D-Rex – are all located in warmer, equatorial areas, which is why the whole film takes place on Ile Saint-Hubert.
