‘Jumanji 4’ Cast Reunite as “Final Film” Officially Enters Production

After several years of challenges, a fourth Jumanji movie (the third in the recent series) is officially being made. Dwayne Johnson recently shared photos and videos from the set, giving fans an exciting look at the project’s progress. He also confirmed which cast members are returning for the new film, a follow-up to 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, and gave an update on the future of the hugely successful Jumanji franchise.

Dwayne Johnson, known for playing Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone in the popular Jumanji movies, announced on Instagram that filming for Jumanji 4 has begun. He shared photos and videos showing the cast at a script read in Los Angeles, confirming that Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan will return as Professor Sheldon Oberon, Franklin Finbar, and Ruby Roundhouse. Johnson said they were all laughing so much during the read-through that their jaws hurt! The script was written by director Jake Kasdan, along with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.

We’ve officially started making the next Jumanji movie! We had our first table read in Los Angeles, where we’ll be filming, and it was a blast. It feels right that this heartwarming adventure will be the last Jumanji film. It was incredible to have everyone back together – we laughed so much our faces hurt! We all realized how much we’ve missed this kind of fun, and we’re excited to make a great movie.

Johnson also mentioned the special meaning behind the last photo he shared. It features a braided necklace with a dice as the central piece, which he confirmed was the original prop from the 1995 film Jumanji, a tribute to Robin Williams. He explained that his character, Bravestone, will wear the necklace in Jumanji 4 as a subtle nod to the original movie, celebrating its 30th anniversary and the start of the popular franchise.
