The third season of the anime has delivered plenty of action in its first seven episodes. We’ve already met several new characters, and now the main characters – Yuji, Megumi, Panda, and Hakari – have officially entered the Culling Game, meaning their true objective can finally start.
Megumi and Yuji went to Tokyo No. 1 Colony to look for Hiromi Higuruma, a player with 100 points, while Panda and Hakari searched for the Angel who holds the key to the Prison Realm. Everyone feels the pressure, and Yuji is worried about what Sukuna is planning while being contained. For now, all Jujutsu High can do is concentrate on their immediate goal.
Kenjaku’s Return In JJK Season 3 Confirms a Major Yuji Itadori Fan Theory
For a while now, viewers who only watch the anime have been curious about a specific moment. In Episode 49, titled “One More Time,” Yuji wakes up from a dream about his father and grandfather when he was a baby. The scene shows Grandpa Itadori explaining to his son that he understood his desire to have a child, but that Kaori, his wife, had passed away.
The mother of his child isn’t Kaori, but Jin stops him from saying that where the baby can hear. He wants to protect the child’s innocence. Just then, a woman appears with stitches on her forehead, seemingly confirming a long-held fan theory: Kenjaku is Yuji’s birth parent. This revelation has led to a lot of new questions.
The episode “Tokyo Colony No. 1” begins with Kenjaku looming over a character viewers last saw in Season 1. Sasaki Setsuko, a former classmate of Yuji’s from the Occult Research Club, is talking to a mysterious man with long black hair – quickly identified as Kenjaku. He reveals she’s in a dream and offers her a chance to escape the barrier if she wakes up.
While guiding Sasaki through the disturbing imagery of her dream, Kenjaku pauses and surprisingly thanks her for her friendship with his son. The sentiment feels almost genuine, despite the fact that he clearly views the boy as nothing more than a tool – a body created solely to house Sukuna.
I’ve learned some interesting details about the connection between Choso and Yuji! Apparently, they’re both related to Kenjaku – they share his bloodline, which was passed down through the bodies Kenjaku inhabited when they were conceived. What’s really surprising is that Yuji is the only one Kenjaku actually gave birth to directly.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Highly-Anticipated Nanami Replacement Is Finally Here
I was really struck by Hiromi Higuruma – he felt like a truly unique character, and I think fans will miss him for a long time. What immediately stood out to me was how much he reminded me of Nanami; they both have this strong sense of right and wrong and always try to do the right thing. He’s a stickler for the rules, just like Nanami, and I have a feeling that’s going to really get under Yuji’s skin after everything that happened in Shibuya.
Higuruma, like Nanami before him, maintains a professional appearance with a suit and tie, reflecting their shared dedication to rules. However, witnessing the world’s unfairness has left them both feeling frustrated and cynical. As powerful, Grade 1 sorcerers, they are equally matched in ability. He’s poised to become a popular character this season in “Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 2.”
When & Where to Watch Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Episode 8
As Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen reaches its first half with just five episodes remaining, Itadori and his friends have officially entered the Culling Game. This means the stakes are about to get much higher, and the action will intensify. The Culling Game is the longest story arc in the manga, so there’s a lot of ground to cover. Many fans are hoping to see Gojo in the Prison Realm, but it’s doubtful he’ll appear before this part of the story ends.
With Higuruma now in the mix and the Jujutsu High students officially entered into the Culling Game, expect a lot of exciting developments leading up to the mid-season finale in March. Don’t miss episode 55 of JJK, titled “Tokyo No. 1 Colony, Part 2,” which will be available on Crunchyroll starting Thursday, February 19th at 12 PM Eastern Time / 9 AM Pacific Time.
