As a huge fan of The Boys, I’m so excited to hear that the story isn’t over! Prime Video is already gearing up for what comes next in this universe, which is fantastic news.

Prime Video has just released the first trailer for Vought Rising, the next series in The Boys universe. This comes after finishing production on season 5 of The Boys. You can watch the trailer below.

The trailer for Vought Rising shows what happened in the world of The Boys several decades earlier. The prequel focuses on Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, and reveals how the company that creates superheroes first began.

The initial trailer for Vought Rising reveals the origins of Stormfront and Soldier Boy, and showcases a new period in the history of superheroes. The Prime Video series will star Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Mason Dye as Bombsight.

The character of Dye will have a significant role in the upcoming prequel series, following a brief appearance in season 5 of The Boys. Vought Rising, set in 1950s New York, was first revealed as being in development at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are both executive producers on the show.

Prime Video hasn’t announced a release date for the Vought Rising series yet, but they will share one soon. The show will star Ricky Staffieri, KiKi Layne, Nicolo Pasetti, Brian J. Smith, and Jorden Myrie.

Season 5 of The Boys introduced several developments for Vought Rising, and the upcoming prequel series will delve into unexplored aspects of the franchise. The spinoff drama was created by Eric Kripke, who will also executive produce, with Paul Grellong serving as showrunner.

Kripke has hinted at a possible second season of Vought Rising, explaining that while the first season tells a complete story with a good conclusion, it also sets up exciting new possibilities. He’d like to continue the show, but ultimately the decision rests with the studio and network.

The show’s unique setting offers plenty of material for dramatic and often darkly humorous storylines that could unfold over several seasons. When Vought Rising debuts in 2027, it will be the only installment continuing The Boys universe, at least for the time being.

Before The Boys concluded, Gen V was canceled after its second season, leaving the storylines of its characters unfinished. Although The Boys: Mexico is currently being planned, it’s uncertain whether Prime Video will actually produce it.

Vought Rising is scheduled to premiere in 2027 on Prime Video.
