As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but be captivated by the dazzling displays of celebrities during promotional tours, and Jenna Ortega, star of Wednesday, has undeniably delivered an array of stunning ensembles on the not-so-red, more gray-ish carpet for Season 2 of her acclaimed series (available with a Netflix subscription). While she often abandons the traditional Wednesday Addams schoolgirl attire for such events, it doesn’t mean she shies away from gothic influences. In fact, her recent punk rock/goth amalgamation adorned with intricate back cutouts has left me in a state of admiration and awe.
What Punk Rock/Goth Look Did Jenna Ortega Wear For A Recent Wednesday Season 2 Event?
It’s widely recognized that actress Jenna Ortega, best known for her role in Beetlejuice, has been a fashion standout since her popularity skyrocketed with the premiere of Wednesday in 2022. More recently, she’s showcased a spooky yet stylish grunge aesthetic and even a sheer white snakeskin look that exuded gothic flair. Now, Ortega has taken her fashion game to a new level by channeling punk rock vibes, and her latest outfit features striking back cutouts that are quite unexpected from the front view of her gown. Check it out!

As a cinephile, I must say, I’m utterly blown away! Vogue has revealed that the stunning dress worn by Ortega was custom-made by Zac Posen for GapStudio. This red carpet gown might just be the most comfortable-looking one I’ve seen in a while. The unique gray/purple jersey fabric undeniably supports this notion.
The front of the dress is quite straightforward, featuring a twisted halter neckline. However, the back…oh my, the back is simply exquisite! With multiple cutouts connected by more twisted fabric on her back, it leads to some strategically placed openings that grace Ortega’s hip and backside. It’s truly a mesmerizing sight to behold!
The torn cutouts on her hips, which mirror the rest of the gown’s design with its descending train of holes and tears, ending in shredded braiding, create an intriguing look. Add to that her simple silver jewelry, smeared eye makeup, messy hair styled to look wet, and a perfectly expressionless Wednesday-like face, and it seems as though she’s just emerged from a grave – a look that I find utterly captivating!
The celebration for Season 2 of “The Wednesday” series won’t be wrapping up just yet! Part 2 is scheduled to drop soon on September 3rd. This upcoming release promises the introduction of Lady Gaga and her enigmatic character, while Gwendoline Christie reprises her role as Principal Weems, which could potentially spark a significant shift in the dynamic between Wednesday Addams and another prominent character.
On the positive side, it seems likely that Ortega will continue to deliver more edgy, gothic styles in her popular spooky series, since she consistently impresses us with her appearances!
