A well-regarded mystery thriller series starring Jason Momoa, known for his roles in action films like Aquaman, Dune, and the Fast & Furious movies, is quickly gaining popularity on Netflix. Momoa first showcased his talent for playing charming and complex characters over a decade ago, a skill he’s become known for in shows like See and Chief of War.
Created by Aaron Guzikowski (known for Prisoners and Raised by Wolves) and produced by Sarah Condon (Looking), The Red Road is a thriller series that’s recently gained the attention it deserves. The show stars Martin Henderson, Julianne Nicholson, Allie Gonino, Tom Sizemore, and Jason Momoa, and centers around a small-town sheriff who must form a difficult partnership with a former convict after a tragedy involving his wife.
The Red Road is quickly becoming popular on Netflix, joining other top shows like the superhero series Cashero, the thrilling series The Beast in Me, the police drama The Closer, the romantic comedy Emily in Paris, and the hugely popular 80s sci-fi hit Stranger Things, which is currently airing its final season. Both seasons of The Red Road are available to stream now, and you can find a description of the show below.
When a college student vanishes from a quiet New Jersey town, Sheriff Harold Jensen finds his life irrevocably altered. The search leads him into the nearby mountains, home to a Native American tribe not officially recognized by the government. He encounters Phillip Kopus, a recently released convict and member of the tribe, whose presence in town sparks unease and threatens the community’s tranquility. Following a tragic event and subsequent cover-up that strains relations between the town and the tribe, Kopus exploits the situation, leaving Jensen with a difficult choice: sacrifice his integrity or endanger his family.
