The biggest draw of having Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki on The Boys is seeing them act together. While it was known Soldier Boy (Ackles) would eventually meet Padalecki’s character, the interaction could have been brief – a quick hello in a hallway, or a short conversation, for example.
As a huge fan of The Boys, I was really intrigued by the season 5 trailer. It seems like the show isn’t going to sideline Soldier Boy at all, and it actually looks like his connection with Jared Padalecki’s character is going to be a major part of the story this season.
The trailer briefly shows Jared Padalecki opening doors with both Soldier Boy and Homelander standing behind him. Given that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki might only share a short scene in season 5 of The Boys, it’s unlikely such a key moment would be revealed in the trailer. Therefore, seeing both actors together suggests they’ll have a significant amount of screen time together in the new season.
Evidence from the trailer suggests Jared Padalecki is playing a rich person who supports Vought International. Although his exact role isn’t known, he appears to be powerful enough to assist even dangerous characters like Soldier Boy and Homelander, as seen when he confidently leads them into what looks like his home.
Jared Padalecki seems to be connected to the ongoing conflict between Soldier Boy and Homelander, and specifically, the mystery of why Homelander revives his father in season 5. If this is the case, Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will likely have a chance to recapture the on-screen connection they shared during their 15 seasons on Supernatural. It also means Padalecki will be involved in one of the major, still-unanswered questions from The Boys.
