Diarmaid Murtagh has joined the DC Universe as a space pirate and key ally to the villain Krem Of The Yellow Hills, as reported by Deadline. This makes Krem the fourth original villain introduced in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s new DCU. Murtagh is known for his roles in series like Outlander and Vikings. His character, Drom Baxton, will be working alongside Krem (played by Matthias Schoenaerts) leading the brutal Brigands – a group known for horrific crimes including human trafficking and genocide, as depicted in the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic book by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

The film, set to release on June 26th, centers around Supergirl (played by Milly Alcock) and Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley) as they journey to find Krem and seek revenge for Ruthye’s father, who was killed by the leader of a group of outlaws. Written by Ana Nogueira and directed by Craig Gillespie, the movie also stars Jason Momoa as Lobo and David Krumholtz as Zor-El, with these outlaws serving as the main villains.
Drom Baxton Joins List of Other Original DCU Villains
Ilana Rostovic (Creature Commandos)

In the first season of Creature Commandos, Maria Bakalova plays Ilana Rostovic, the series’ main villain. Initially presented as a benevolent ruler of Pokolistan, her deceptive nature is eventually exposed, revealing her true, villainous intentions. This series is the first installment in the newly rebooted DC Universe.
Despite lacking traditional superpowers, she’s a capable and intelligent opponent who proves dangerous throughout the animated series. Ultimately, The Bride defeats and kills her as an act of revenge.
The Hammer of Boravia (Superman)

The Hammer of Boravia, a clone of Superman, was revealed in the 2025 Superman movie. He appears as a character piloting a gold and silver mech suit controlled by Lex Luthor. Interestingly, David Corenswet, who played Superman, also portrayed and voiced The Hammer of Boravia while in the suit.
In the movie, he’s also known as Ultraman, a name shared with a DC Comics character. However, the name ‘Hammer of Boravia’ and the clone’s specific personality are original to the DC Universe. This version of the character takes inspiration from both Ultraman – a villainous alternate-universe version of Superman – and Bizarro, a flawed Superman clone who became his opposite.
Red St. Wild (Peacemaker)

Michael Rooker plays Red St. Wild, an original villain introduced in Season 2 of Peacemaker. Hired to eliminate Eagly, Red St. Wild appears in three episodes before a fittingly ironic end: he’s killed by the very eagles he dedicated his life to hunting.
Red St. Wild is primarily a hunter, but he also has magical skills he uses to track down eagles – even Eagly. James Gunn has jokingly compared him to Eagly’s arch-enemy, like Lex Luthor to Superman, which perfectly captures the strange and funny vibe of the show Peacemaker.
