The story then follows a path similar to the Woman of Tomorrow comic book, as Kara teams up with a young girl named Ruthye to avenge the death of her father.

It’s now official: these events happen after the Superman movie. This means Kara’s story will continue from her debut in the 2025 film and prepare her for future roles in the DC Universe.

James Gunn has confirmed that his upcoming Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, will be set after the events of Supergirl, clarifying that the stories won’t happen at the same time as previously speculated.
