Jake Paul Called Out Anthony Joshua Again, But I’m Not Sure Where He’s Going With This

The boxing match between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua is scheduled for December 19th. As usual, Paul is playfully teasing Joshua online, though his latest post was a bit puzzling and it’s unclear exactly what he’s trying to achieve with his social media jabs.

Boxing fans are excited to watch Jake Paul’s upcoming fight on Netflix, but Paul himself is currently using Instagram to talk about his opponent. It’s unclear whether he’s sharing genuine facts or hinting at something, as his latest post highlights how different their lives were back in 2012.

I think he’s just being sarcastic, but I still don’t understand why he’s saying this. I don’t believe Jake Paul genuinely thinks a local wrestling tournament is tougher than the Olympics – the Olympics are much more important. It feels like he’s trying to praise his opponent, and if so, I’m not sure what his reasoning is.

More On Jake Paul

Boxing great Roy Jones Jr. recently shared his thoughts on how people like Jake Paul and other social media stars are changing the world of boxing.

You know, as much as I love watching Anthony Joshua fight, it’s hard to ignore the talk around his 2012 Olympic gold medal. A lot of boxing fans, myself included sometimes, wonder if he got a bit of a home-country advantage with the Olympics being held in the UK. I remember reading on BoxingScene.com that his first fight, against Erislandy Savon, had some really questionable scoring. And it wasn’t much better in the final against Roberto Cammarelle – a lot of people thought the judges favored him there too. It definitely adds a little bit of an asterisk to that gold medal, even though he’s become a huge star.

This situation could also help build excitement for the fight and emphasize that Jake Paul is considered a significant underdog for the first time. It’s worth remembering that Paul was briefly given an official ranking by the WBA, but it was later removed after debate, with people on both sides questioning whether it was deserved.

Most boxing experts acknowledge Jake Paul has fought several well-known opponents, but he carefully chooses them. He typically faces fighters who are older, smaller, or have less boxing experience than himself. Even so, his fights have generated a lot of buzz and have been major talking points in the boxing world recently. Doesn’t that achievement deserve some recognition?

Paul likely believes taking on a tough opponent will finally get him a championship fight, which he’s been working towards for a long time. Even if he doesn’t win, this fight – which some see as a risky move – could prove he’s a serious professional and impress those who doubt him.

I’m really looking forward to the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight on Netflix on December 19th, no matter what Jake’s trying to accomplish with his social media. Honestly, this might be the first time I’m actually hoping Jake Paul will win – I’m curious to see if he can pull it off.
