Apple TV’s new psychological thriller, Imperfect Women, features a fantastic cast. The series debuted on March 18, 2026, and is based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name. Annie Weisman, known for her work on Apple TV’s Physical and Fox’s Almost Family, created the show. Imperfect Women will have eight episodes, released one per week on Apple TV.
As a film lover, I recently watched Imperfect Women, and it really stayed with me. It’s a story about the shattering end of a long friendship after Nancy is found murdered. The film focuses on her two friends, Eleanor and Mary, and how they grapple with the loss and the realization that Nancy was struggling with things they didn’t even see. They set out to uncover the truth about what happened, hoping to ease their own guilt, but it quickly gets complicated. Both Eleanor and Mary are carrying their own baggage – secrets, hidden desires, and old grudges – and digging into Nancy’s life threatens to expose everything. It’s a really compelling and layered story about how well we really know the people closest to us.
“Imperfect Women” is a gripping and scandalous series, boosted by an incredible cast. Apple TV+ assembled a powerhouse trio – Kerry Washington, Elisabeth Moss, and Kate Mara – to play the show’s complex and flawed main characters. The story also features a compelling group of supporting characters who act as romantic interests, potential suspects, friends, and the determined detectives trying to uncover the truth.

Elisabeth Moss As Mary
Date Of Birth: July 24, 1982

- Active Since: 1990
I’ve been following Elisabeth Moss’s career for years, and it’s been incredible to watch her grow. Many of us first noticed her as a young actress on The West Wing, but she really started to break out with her fantastic work as Peggy Olson on Mad Men. Since then, she’s consistently delivered strong performances in films like Queen of Earth and the series Top of the Lake. But honestly, I think she’s reached a new level with The Handmaid’s Tale. Her portrayal of June Osborne is just phenomenal – it’s no surprise she won an Emmy for it. She’s truly one of the most talented actresses working today.

| Movie/TV Show Title | Role |
| Mad Men(2007 – 2015) | Peggy Olson |
| Top of the Lake (2013, 2017) | Robin Griffin |
| The Handmaid’s Tale (2017 – 2025) | June Osborne/Offred |
In the series Imperfect Women, Moss portrays Mary, who is close friends with Eleanor and Nancy. Unlike them, Mary leads a more conventional life with her husband and family. Though she appears outwardly different, she holds onto secrets just like her friends do, and is a very emotional and passionate person.
Kate Mara As Nancy

Kate Mara, who was born in Bedford, New York, started acting as a child in the 1990s. She landed her first regular TV role in 2003 with Nip/Tuck. She continued to build her career, appearing as Hayden McClaine in the first season of American Horror Story in 2011, and then as Zoe Barnes in the popular 2013 series House of Cards, which brought her significant recognition and an Emmy nomination. More recently, she’s starred in projects like the 2020 series A Teacher, an episode of Black Mirror, and the 2023 miniseries Class of ’09.

| A Teacher (2020) | Claire Wilson |
| Class of ’09 (2023) | Amy Poet |
I’m so excited to see Mara playing Nancy in Imperfect Women! She’s the woman who gets found dead after a night out with Eleanor and Mary. From what I understand, Nancy seems like she has it all – she’s a philanthropist, a homemaker, and married into a super-powerful LA family. But, like all the women in this series, she’s hiding things. Apparently, figuring out Nancy’s secrets is going to be a real challenge, even more so than the others’!
Imperfect Women Supporting Cast and Characters

Joel Kinnaman plays Robert, the husband of Nancy, in the film Imperfect Women. Kinnaman is a Swedish actor who has appeared in popular shows and films like Easy Money, Johan Falk, The Killing, Altered Carbon, and For All Mankind. In the film, Robert is heartbroken by Nancy’s death and soon discovers she had many secrets.
Corey Stoll, famous for his role in House of Cards, plays Howard in Imperfect Women. Howard is a loving husband and father who’s worried about supporting his family. He’s also very concerned about his wife as she grieves after the loss of Nancy.
Rome Flynn, who has appeared in shows like The Bold and the Beautiful and How to Get Away with Murder, plays Jordan in Imperfect Women. Jordan is Eleanor’s coworker and someone she’s romantically involved with, though Eleanor doesn’t view the relationship as very serious. Jordan, however, seems deeply invested in their connection.
Ana Ortiz, famous for her roles in shows like Ugly Betty, Boston Legal, and Over There, stars as Detective Ganz in Imperfect Women. Detective Ganz is leading the investigation into Nancy’s murder and is skilled at switching between friendly and intimidating approaches during questioning.
I was so excited to see Leslie Odom Jr. – you probably know him as Aaron Burr from Hamilton, he’s amazing – playing Donavan in Imperfect Women. He plays Eleanor’s brother, and basically, Donavan’s the head of this incredibly influential family. So, naturally, he keeps a really close eye on his sister and what she’s doing – and where she’s getting involved!
