A rumor suggests we now know the main location for the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday. Although Marvel is keeping the plot secret, details are starting to leak out. The cast is already impressive, but reports indicate even more actors will be making appearances that haven’t been officially announced yet.

Avengers: Doomsday rumored to be set in Latveria

A new report suggests that much of the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, will be set in the country of Latveria. The information comes from MyTimeToShineHello, a well-known source for entertainment news, who shared the claim on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Latveria is the fictional country ruled by Doctor Doom, both in Marvel comics and related shows and movies. Its capital and biggest city, Doomstadt, is where Doom lives and operates from, inside his fortress, Castle Doom. Latveria shares a border with Symkaria, the home of Silver Sable, a character often seen in Spider-Man stories.

The nation of Latveria was first hinted at in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the opening scenes of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Viewers can spot its name on a plaque beside an empty chair in Sue Storm’s Future Foundation conference room.

Early reactions to Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ are very positive, with many reviewers highlighting the exciting action. Jeff Sneider mentioned on ‘The Hot Mic’ podcast that the initial response suggests audiences will enjoy the film.

MyTimeToShineHello shared their enthusiastic reaction to the new MCU movie on X, calling it potentially “the most epic movie of all time.” They were particularly impressed with the opening scene, saying it was better than anything seen in previous Avengers films, and described the final battle as completely “insane.”

A recent report suggests Marvel Studios is adding even more action scenes to the movie than originally planned.

The next Avengers movie, titled Doomsday, will be released in theaters on December 18, 2026. A year later, on December 17, 2027, its follow-up film, Secret Wars, will hit theaters.

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of Doomsday, are also set to direct the upcoming Secret Wars movie. They’re producing both films alongside Marvel Studios through their company, AGBO.
