As a total film and TV buff, I’m really excited about HBO’s new comedy, I Love LA. It feels like it’s going to be one of those shows that really gets the moment, you know? It’s got a fantastic cast and comes from Rachel Sennott – I loved her work in films like Shiva Baby, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and Bottoms! The show seems to follow a group of friends just trying to navigate life, work, and everything else in Los Angeles, and I think a lot of people will connect with that.
The new HBO series, created by, written by, and starring Sennott, begins airing this Sunday, November 2nd at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Over eight episodes, the show will feature a growing ensemble cast and explore themes of friendship, ambition, and what it’s like to live in Los Angeles. Sennott’s personal comedic style heavily influences the series, which promises a realistic and character-focused look at these topics.
As a film and TV buff, I’m really intrigued by the cast of I Love LA. They’ve got some familiar faces, but also a bunch of performers who seem perfect for bringing the real vibe of Los Angeles to life. With Sienna Sennott as Maia, a hopeful talent agent, and a supporting cast playing influencers, stylists, and producers, I have a feeling this cast could become truly iconic. It feels like they’re building something special!
Rachel Sennott As Maia

Rachel Sennott, originally from Simsbury, Connecticut, gained recognition after starring in Emma Seligman’s 2020 film, Shiva Baby. A graduate of NYU Tisch’s acting program, she honed her comedic skills through open mics and student films. Before her breakthrough role, Sennott had already built a following on Twitter and collaborated on content with her friend, Ayo Edebiri, who would later star in The Bear.
Rachel starred in the 2022 film Bodies Bodies Bodies and Bottoms in 2023, which she wrote with Seligman. Sennott’s career has closely mirrored her online presence, and her genuine voice on social media has contributed to her success. In I Love LA, she plays Maia, an ambitious and optimistic character who dreams of becoming a talent agent.
Odessa A’zion as Tallulah
Born June 17, 2000

Odessa A’zion comes from a creative family – her mother is actress Pamela Adlon and her father is German director Felix Adlon. While Pamela Adlon is famous for voicing Bobby Hill in King of the Hill, she’s spent more time working behind the scenes than in front of the camera, meaning A’zion and her siblings didn’t grow up with as much public exposure.
A’zion is quickly becoming a well-known actress. She first gained recognition for her role as Joey Del Marco in the 2020 Netflix series, Grand Academy, and has since appeared in projects like the 2022 horror film Hellraiser (as Riley McKendry) and the 2023 film Sitting In Bars With Cake (as Corinne). Now, she stars as Tallulah in I Love LA, playing Maia’s successful and popular college friend turned social media influencer.
Jordan Firstman As Charlie
Born July 8, 1991

- Active Since 2017

I first noticed Jordan Firstman during the pandemic – he was hilarious on Instagram, doing spot-on impressions of everything happening around us. It really blew up his following! But then in 2023, he landed a great role in the black comedy thriller Rotting In The Sun, directed by Sebastian Silva, and that’s when a lot more people started to recognize him. He’s originally from Long Island, New York, and it’s been amazing to watch his career take off after building a fanbase with those viral videos.
After gaining popularity on social media, Firstman’s career blossomed into a diverse mix of television and film projects. He started as a consulting producer on the Netflix show Big Mouth in 2020, and later took on a recurring role in the Marvel series Ms. Marvel. In 2025, he released his debut album and is set to play Charlie, a celebrity stylist, on the show I Love LA, which is set in West Hollywood.
True Whitaker As Alani
 Born July 2, 1998

- Active Since 2022

True Whitaker, the daughter of famous actor Forest Whitaker, is building her acting career with a role in the new HBO series, I Love LA. Before this, she had only made occasional appearances in a few episodes of her father’s show, Godfather of Harlem, over the past several years. In the MGM+ series, True plays the character Sandra, appearing throughout its three seasons.
I just finished watching I Love LA, and I think Sierra Whitaker is someone to watch! She’s relatively new, but her performance as Alani really stood out. Alani’s a ‘nepo baby’ – you know, someone with famous parents – and she’s trying to find her own way while working at her dad’s production company. It’s a really interesting character because she’s clearly grappling with what it means to have privilege and trying to be genuine at the same time. I have a feeling this role could really launch her career.
Josh Hutcherson As Dylan
Born October 12, 1992

 MovieStillsDB
- Active Since 2002

Josh Hutcherson first gained recognition as a child actor, notably appearing in the 2007 film The Bridge to Terabithia. He became widely known for his role as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games movies, which were released between 2012 and 2015. Beyond acting, Hutcherson has also worked as an executive producer on films like Detention (2011), The Forger (2012), and Escobar: Paradise Lost (2015).
Josh Hutcherson recently starred in the 2023 film Five Nights at Freddy’s and the 2024 film The Beekeeper, both of which were fairly successful. He’s the most well-known actor in I Love LA, where he plays Dylan, a teacher and Maia’s boyfriend. Dylan’s life outside of the Los Angeles scene offers a different perspective compared to the other characters.
