I Didn’t Have Adam Sandler Admitting To Being A Swiftie On My Bingo Card, But Here We Are

Over twenty-nine years since the original “Happy Gilmore” hit the screens, the eagerly anticipated sequel is set to debut on next week’s 2025 movie lineup. It’s no secret that Adam Sandler and Netflix have pulled out all the stops for this highly anticipated follow-up to their popular sports comedy, and it’s jam-packed with spectacular guest appearances. Among the recognizable faces is Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who, interestingly enough, is a massive fan of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, who enjoys widespread fame.

In addition to returning Happy Gilmore OGs, such as Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller, the list of celebrities set to appear in Happy Gilmore 2 is impressively stacked. Bad Bunny, Margaret Qualley, Eminem, and just about every big name in golf. Oh, and I can’t forget Travis Kelce, who pitched himself upon hearing the highly anticipated Sandler film was in the works. The Grown Ups star raved about Kelce, the newly minted actor, to ET, but also admitted to being a Swiftie, saying the Sandler Clan are huge fans:

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Taylor, and let me tell you, she’s simply amazing! Over the years, my family has interacted with her numerous times, and I can confidently say that Taylor is exceptionally kind to us all. My kids adore her because of her warmth and friendliness towards them.

It wasn’t something I had anticipated, but it turns out that Sandler and his family have already crossed paths with the “Fortnight” singer, as they were spotted embracing at the premiere of the Eras Tour film on E! News. Sunny and Sadie Sandler, who are both in Happy Gilmore 2, are known to be fans of the pop star. What I didn’t know was how close-knit their relationship with Swift is. The way Sandler speaks about the Folklore artist suggests that they were friends long before Kelce joined the cast of Happy Gilmore 2, and it’s evident that he holds her in high regard.

Speaking about his fellow Super Bowl champion, the Sandman only had kind words, stating that it seemed as if he’d been friends with Kelce for a lifetime.

Travis is incredibly kind, amusing, and downright hilarious. Spending time with him feels like hanging out with my old friends from high school – we share laughter, speak freely, and enjoy each other’s company. There’s no denying he’s a charmer. He excels as an actor and is genuinely admirable as a person.

It appears that everyone is captivated by Kelce’s alluring charm following his supposed outstanding performance in the Happy Gilmore sequel. I eagerly anticipate seeing him make guest appearances in more Happy Madison productions, be it his waiter role evolving into a classic Adam Sandler character or not. Previously, there were whispers that the actor from Grotesquerie was going to portray Happy Gilmore’s grown son, but the script was altered, and those plans didn’t materialize.

In the course of their work, Sandler and the team had to make several revisions, particularly after the demise of Carl Weathers, who portrayed Chubbs Peterson, Happy’s mentor. To pay tribute to the beloved character played by the late actor, his son (portrayed by Lavell Crawford) was introduced into the storyline. You can get a sneak preview of this amusing new character and some of the high-profile guest appearances in the trailer.

Given the star-studded cast for this upcoming movie and the fact that the script is in the hands of the “Murder Mystery” actor, I can hardly conceive it will fall short. In fact, it’s safe to say that the red carpet premiere is going to be the place to be. If we’re fortunate, with this being the football team’s star tight end’s first film role, there might just be another Sandler-Swift collaboration in store for us.
