Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, consistently faces challenges in trying to live a normal life. After the events of Season 3, she moved away from Hawkins, Indiana with the Byers family. Even reuniting with her adoptive father, Jim Hopper, at the end of Season 4 wasn’t enough, as new openings to the Upside Down forced her into hiding by the start of Season 5. The Season 5 premiere reveals she’s now a missing person, and surprisingly, the phone number listed on the missing person poster is a real number fans can actually call.

After Season 5, Part 1 of Stranger Things came out on Netflix in 2025, many fans – including me – decided to try calling the phone number 765-303-2020 to see if it was real. It is, and here’s the recording you’ll hear when you dial it:

So, after Season 4 of Stranger Things, it turns out Eleven had to go into hiding for over a year and a half! The military was still after her, and even though Lt. Colonel Sullivan couldn’t catch her at that NINA facility in Nevada, they didn’t give up. Dr. Kay took over the hunt when the military moved in on Hawkins. Now Eleven’s stuck inside the town’s quarantine zone, trying to stay out of sight while Hopper secretly trains her. It’s a really tense situation!

Most people in Hawkins don’t know Jane Hopper’s true identity, so they’d naturally worry when they learn she’s missing and would want to help by reporting any sightings. They have no idea the military has dangerous plans for her, like the experiments they performed on Eight at their base in the Upside Down. However, I appreciate that Netflix added a playful touch to the end of that phone number instead of simply leaving it disconnected.

Just three weeks from today, the first three episodes of Stranger Things Season 5 will be available on Christmas Day. Then, on New Year’s Eve, the final episode – lasting a little over two hours – will be released, concluding the series.
