Over the past year, Netflix has seen a big increase in earnings thanks to releasing popular movies and TV shows. But one series, in particular, has become their most successful and valuable property.
Netflix has had some big hits recently, with the latest seasons of Stranger Things and Bridgerton. The fourth season of Bridgerton was released in two parts – the first on January 28th, and the second coming February 26th – and it’s already boosted Netflix’s earnings significantly.
A new report from Parrot Analytics shows that the Netflix historical drama Bridgerton is a hugely valuable property for the streaming service. Just eight days after the first part of its fourth season premiered, demand for the show in the U.S. was 230 times the average series – significantly higher than season three. Netflix has reportedly earned over $350 million in revenue from Bridgerton and its spin-off, Queen Charlotte, in the U.S. and Canada.
Bridgerton has been a huge success for Netflix, attracting around 1.7 million new subscribers worldwide. Splitting the latest season into two parts was a smart move, and the show has become one of Netflix’s most profitable series, earning the company hundreds of millions of dollars.
The fourth season of Bridgerton is based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman and centers on Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), who becomes infatuated with a mysterious woman he meets at a masked ball. Unbeknownst to him, this woman, known as the “Lady in Silver,” is actually Sophie Baek, a maid (played by Yerin Ha).
It’s no surprise that Netflix has renewed Bridgerton for another season, even before season 4 came out. However, it’s still unknown which characters the next season will follow. While a release date hasn’t been announced, fans are hoping it will arrive in 2027, just like season 4.
