House of the Dragon Season 3’s Final Trailer Teases the Targaryen War Fans Have Been Waiting For

The situation is incredibly tense in . Fans have been eagerly awaiting the latest season, and it’s finally arrived.

The highly anticipated show House of the Dragon is coming back on June 21st, and HBO Max is already launching a big promotional campaign. But the Game of Thrones universe is so popular it doesn’t really need much reminding of what fans love about it. The latest trailer for Season 3 understands this perfectly, focusing on what everyone wants to see: dragons!

House of the Dragon Season 3 Kicks Off the Targaryen War

This new series, inspired by George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and focuses on the story of House Targaryen. As the first spin-off from the popular fantasy series, it has sparked considerable debate, with both fans and the author surprised by how much it differs from the original book.

The latest trailer marks the beginning of the Dance of the Dragons, a brutal civil war. It pits Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen against King Aegon II Targaryen in a fight for control of the Iron Throne, as both claim the rightful inheritance.

The trailer reveals Rhaenyra Targaryen’s hope to reclaim the Iron Throne peacefully. She states early on, “We’ll secure the city without any more bloodshed.”

Despite Rhaenyra’s desire for peace, the trailer suggests a brutal and bloody war is coming. Showrunner Ryan Condal even claims one episode will be unlike anything viewers have ever seen.

The upcoming third season will feature the return of a large cast, including Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin, Abubakar Salim, Tom Cullen, Tommy Flanagan, Dan Fogler, Joplin Sibtain, and Barry Sloane.

House of the Dragon Is Nearing Its End

I’ve been eagerly awaiting more House of the Dragon, and it’s exciting to hear they’re already thinking about the future! Apparently, the showrunner, Ryan Condal, has been hinting for a while that they intend to wrap up the story after four seasons, and he’s now confirmed that’s still the plan.

I can’t say for sure what everyone else is thinking at HBO, but I definitely intend to continue with the show. The good news is that HBO has already greenlit Season 4 of House of the Dragon, though we haven’t scheduled filming yet.

The final trailer for Season 3 arrives alongside some exciting news: Season 1 will be available in American Sign Language starting May 29th.

Viewers in Italy may be able to watch the first episodes of Season 3 early, as the show will premiere at the festival running from June 10th to 14th. This fantasy spin-off will kick off the 72nd annual event with its new episodes.

I’m so excited for Season 3 of House of the Dragon! It kicks off on HBO Max on June 21st, and new episodes will drop every week. The season has eight episodes total, and it’ll all wrap up with the finale on August 9th. I can’t wait!
