Hilary Duff Performed Her First Concert In Nearly 20 Years, And I Can’t Get Over How She Recreated Her Viral ‘With Love’ Dance With Fans

After a memorable audition, she became known for her relatable character in Lizzie McGuire, her iconic Y2K fashion, and her popular music. Hilary Duff performed many of her classic hits at her Monday concert, like “Wake Up,” “So Yesterday,” “Why Not,” “Come Clean,” and “What Dreams Are Made Of.” A particularly heartwarming moment happened during her performance of “With Love” when she invited three fans onstage to join her in doing the song’s famous dance.

Hilary Duff recently resurfaced online thanks to a 2007 performance of her song “With Love” on Good Morning America. The video, originally filmed in New York City with fans in attendance, unexpectedly went viral and has become a popular source of memes and videos on TikTok. Here’s one of the most popular examples:

I’ve been seeing this “With Love” dance everywhere, and while it’s definitely become a bit of a joke, it seems more about the dance itself – someone clearly created it for Hilary Duff! She recently told Variety she’s happy people are having fun with it, but it’s also a little complicated for her. She feels like it captures a moment when she was really trying to figure things out and be someone she wasn’t quite ready to be, and seeing it resurface brings all those feelings back.

Clearly she decided to embrace the dance at her first concert back, and it looks like she was having a blast with it. On an Instagram post following the show, she wrote this:

Even after 18 years, I’m still processing everything. I’ve often thought about performing again, but last night was beyond anything I imagined. The support, the feeling of togetherness, and the incredible energy completely overwhelmed me in the best way. Thank you for being with me throughout the years, for cherishing the past and welcoming the future. I don’t know how I got here, but I feel completely at home and like I’m living a dream come true.

Hilary Duff is continuing her concert tour with a show in Toronto this weekend, followed by performances in New York City, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. Fans are hoping she’ll perform the dance from her song “With Love” at each show, and many are excited to see videos of it. Her latest album, “luck… or something,” will be released on February 20th.
