At New York Comic Con 2025, Prime Video shared a first look at promotional content for The Mighty Nein, an animated series that continues the story established in The Legend of Vox Machina.

A recent announcement hinted at the arrival of The Mighty Nein at New York Comic Con, and revealed the show will premiere on Prime Video on November 19, 2025. A promotional poster shows the adventuring party – a diverse group including gnomes, elves, tieflings, and humans – surrounding a magical, glowing red apple, solidifying the release date.

A later update announced that the trailer for the new series will launch tomorrow at New York Comic Con, sharing a short, one-minute preview that’s already been watched over 284,000 times. This release marks the beginning of the next chapter for Critical Role’s animated world.

The Mighty Nein, created by Metapigeon, Titmouse, and Amazon MGM Studios, is a new animated series inspired by the second campaign of the popular web series Critical Role. It takes place twenty years after the events of The Legend of Vox Machina and centers on a group of unlikely heroes who come together when a magical artifact called The Beacon is stolen. The story unfolds in the world of Exandria, primarily on the continent of Wildemount, where conflict is brewing between the Dwendalian Empire and the Kryn Dynasty.

The voice cast features returning favorites like Laura Bailey, Marisha Ray, Taliesin Jaffe, Ashley Johnson, Liam O’Brien, Travis Willingham, and Sam Riegel. Matthew Mercer returns as the voice of Essek Thelyss, and the cast is joined by guest stars including Auliʻi Cravalho, Alan Cumming, Rahul Kohli, Anika Noni Rose, Mark Strong, and Ming-Na Wen.

According to showrunner Tasha Huo, the series offers a more sophisticated and developed narrative. Actor Willingham also revealed that filming for both seasons one and two is already complete.
