With the release of *Tron Ares* coming on October 10, 2025, fans are eager to find out about all the special popcorn buckets that will be sold at theaters. While major chains like Regal, AMC, Cinemark, and Marcus Theatres have shown off pictures of the limited-edition buckets (and collectible cups) on social media, details about when they’ll be available and how much they’ll cost have been mostly under wraps. However, Marcus Theatres is known for announcing prices early, and they’ve done it again this time – many of the items are even available to pre-order now.
How much are the popcorn buckets for Tron Ares?
It looks like four different Tron Ares popcorn buckets will be sold at movie theaters around the United States, costing anywhere from $15 to $75. Considering these are official Disney items, the higher prices aren’t too unexpected.
I’m so excited! From what I understand, everything should be ready by October 10th, but since there are early showings planned for October 8th, I have a feeling the movie will actually be in cinemas by then. I can’t wait!
Lightcycle LED Popcorn Bucket
This high-quality, officially licensed Tron Ares popcorn bucket costs $74.99 at Marcus Theaters, and it will probably be similarly priced at other stores. It’s more of a collectible display item than a functional popcorn bucket, as you have to open each wheel’s lid to put popcorn inside.
Despite its size, this model is really impressive and showcases the iconic Tron cyclist. Red stripes on the wheels and rider light up and pulse, mimicking the energy flow of the bike. At 20 inches long and 9 inches tall, it’s a substantial and eye-catching piece.
Okay, so this popcorn bucket is seriously cool. Each of the two ‘wheels’ can actually hold a whopping 40 ounces of popcorn – that’s 80 ounces total! And get this, the center part of each wheel is clear, so you can easily see how much you’ve got left without even having to peek inside the whole thing. As a movie lover, that’s a game changer!
AMC announced on Instagram that the lightcycle buckets will be released on October 9th. However, they might be available for purchase at some theaters even sooner.
Arcade Cabinet LED Popcorn Bucket
This movie theater popcorn bucket is a surprisingly good deal at just $29.99! It’s designed like a retro arcade game, similar to the ones you’d find in Flynn’s Arcade from the original 1982 movie.
The arcade cabinet has detailed designs, including the “Tron Ares” logo on both the top and screen. It has red buttons and a blue joystick for gameplay, and four red squares that look like coin slots. A bold stripe runs down the side, showcasing a Tron runner silhouette. The cabinet also includes LED lights, but it’s not yet known exactly where they will be located.
We don’t have the exact size of the arcade cabinet yet, but it can hold 100 ounces of popcorn, which is loaded in through a panel on the back. This suggests it’s about half the size of the lightcycle popcorn bucket.
Circuit Board LED Popcorn Bucket
This classic popcorn bucket is the most affordable of our premium options, costing $27.50. Its familiar shape is comfortable to hold in a theater seat, and it can hold a generous 130 ounces of popcorn – more than any of our other buckets.
As a huge cinema fan, I was immediately struck by this bucket’s design. The main part is black, but the front really pops with a red-framed, trapezoid-shaped window. It’s covered in etched graphics – the Tron Ares logo, a cyclist, and, of course, the iconic lightcycle, along with some other cool details. What’s even better is that the sides and back are designed to look like a circuit board, giving it a seriously cool, computer-chassis vibe from almost any angle. It’s a really clever and eye-catching piece!
Like the other models, this bucket also has red LED lights that run on batteries hidden in the base of the window frame. The product details confirm it includes a light-up base.
Standard Tron Ares Popcorn Bucket
This popcorn bucket is a basic black container decorated with images inspired by the Tron Ares poster.
Cinemark recently announced a new movie-going option on Instagram: a collectible container that will likely cost between $15 and $20.
Honorable Mention: Lightcycle LED Insulated Tumbler
This Tron Ares cup isn’t a typical movie souvenir, but it’s the nicest drinkware we’ve found related to the film. Right now, it’s available at Marcus Theatres for $17.99 and at Regal as part of a collectible package (the price at Regal isn’t known). It might also appear at other movie theater stores in the future.
This 20-ounce cup features a red lightcycle figure at the bottom. The figure and liquid inside are highlighted by an LED light-up base and the cup includes a removable black lid and straw. It’s designed like the recent 30th Anniversary Toy Story cup, with lights illuminating the contents from below, but don’t worry – the liquid doesn’t reach the figure!
