Production for Season 3 of HBO’s The Last of Us is gearing up, and a significant casting change has been announced. The show, based on the popular video game series, features a large cast and tells a complex story. To bring the game’s second installment to life, the showrunners decided to split it into two seasons, following Season 1 which covered the first game in full. As they prepare to begin filming, it’s been revealed that one of the actors who appeared in Season 2 will not be returning.
Danny Ramirez, who played Manny in Season 2, couldn’t return for Season 3 because of other work commitments. While it’s unclear if those commitments were related to the upcoming Avengers movies or something else, a replacement has been found. According to Deadline, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., who starred in the Spider-Man movies within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, will now play Manny in the third season. Additionally, Clea DuVall, known for her role in But I’m a Cheerleader, is joining the cast as a member of the Seraphites, one of the groups fighting for control in the show’s post-apocalyptic Seattle.
I’m really excited for Season 3 of The Last of Us! Manny didn’t get much screen time in Season 2 because the story focused so much on Ellie, but I know from the game that he’s a close friend of Abby, who’s going to be a major character this time around. I’m expecting Manny to have a much bigger part in the new episodes, and I have a feeling his story will really tie into the show’s themes about how violence just keeps repeating itself.

Fans are curious about how Clea DuVall’s character will fit into Season 3 of The Last of Us, especially since the video game features several important Seraphite characters.
