The popular HBO sports reality series, Hard Knocks, is returning with a first-ever addition to the show this season.
HBO’s Hard Knocks first aired in 2001, following the Baltimore Ravens after their Super Bowl victory. Since then, each season of the show has given viewers an inside look at the lives of players, coaches, and staff within an NFL team – whether it’s during training camp, the regular season, or the offseason. While there are 32 teams in the NFL, only 16 have been featured on Hard Knocks in its 25-year history. This summer’s episodes will be the first time the Seattle Seahawks have been showcased on the popular series.
HBO has released the first trailer for Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Seattle Seahawks, a five-part series that goes behind the scenes with the Super Bowl champions following their February win. The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl LXI in Las Vegas, defeating the New England Patriots 29-13. This victory came after a highly contested 2015 Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba earned Offensive Player of the Year, while running back Kenneth Walker III took home the MVP award before being traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for next season.
The Seattle Seahawks are entering the 2026-2027 season as Super Bowl champions twice, including their 2014 victory against the Denver Broncos. The upcoming season of Hard Knocks will follow key players like Macdonald, Smith-Njigba, and Darnold as they try to build on their success from the previous year. Fans will get an inside look at summer training camp in Renton, Washington, and see the return of defensive stars Devon Witherspoon and Byron Murphy II.
The new season of Hard Knocks, focusing on the Seattle Seahawks training camp, is particularly special. It’s the first time since the show began in 2001 that it’s followed the team that just won the Super Bowl, making it one of the most eagerly awaited installments ever. Liev Schreiber will once again narrate, as he has for every season except 2007, when Paul Rudd took on the role for the Kansas City Chiefs.
HBO has announced that the New England Patriots will be featured on Hard Knocks during the 2027 season, immediately following the Seattle Seahawks’ season which concluded September 1st. This marks the first time the Patriots franchise will be showcased on the show.
The new season of Hard Knocks, following the Seattle Seahawks during training camp, will begin on HBO and HBO Max on Tuesday, August 4th, at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
