The first season of Amazon and A24’s *Hazbin Hotel* concluded with a humbling defeat for Alastor. He was beaten in a fight by Adam, a rather unpleasant angel, which damaged his pride. Although Niffty ultimately killed Adam, Alastor was left feeling vulnerable and broken.
At New York Comic-Con (NYCC), TopMob spoke with Amir Talai about what’s next for the character Alastor in Season 2 of the popular animated series, especially after his significant loss to an angel.
Amir Talai likely won’t show how much he’s hurting, and as usual, he’ll probably still smile through it.
Amir Talai believes the character will likely respond with a smile, as he usually does, and won’t show how much he’s hurt or scared. However, internally, the character is deeply shocked and didn’t believe he could be hurt in that way.
As the second season unfolds, Talai observed a strong determination to prevent a previous issue from recurring.
Talai feels a strong sense of fear and urgency to prevent a past situation from repeating itself. This will be a key focus of his storyline this season. He’s primarily concerned with breaking free from an existing agreement, realizing that being controlled by someone else leaves him vulnerable. The audience will be interested to see how he navigates this challenge and attempts to gain his independence.
