Haunting Of Hill House Star Michiel Huisman Joins Mayfair Witches Cast

An actor known for their role in The Haunting of Hill House is now part of the cast of Mayfair Witches, marking their return to horror after a seven-year break. Mayfair Witches has aired two seasons on AMC, and the third season is currently being filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia.

As a big fan of atmospheric dramas, I’m really excited about this new show! It’s adapted from Anne Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches – a fantastic trilogy of books she originally published between 1990 and 1994. I remember discovering those books years ago and being completely captivated!

According to Variety, Michiel Huisman will join the cast of Mayfair Witches season 3. He’ll play Michael, a carpenter who owns and operates an inn, and is hiding a dark secret. His relationship with Rowan Mayfair will complicate things.

Alexandra Daddario plays Rowan in Mayfair Witches, a neurosurgeon who discovers she’s a witch and part of a powerful family line. The season two finale, which aired in March 2025, showed Rowan embracing a darker side, hinting at a future conflict with Julien.

The show also stars Tongayi Chirisa, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, Ben Feldman, and Alyssa Jirrels.

I’m so excited for season 3 of Mayfair Witches! It’s not just Jack Huston joining the cast, but Betsy Brandt too! She’s going to be a series regular playing a character named Katherine. We don’t know much about Katherine yet, which is keeping me on the edge of my seat!

After starring in the 2018 Netflix horror series The Haunting of Hill House, Michiel Huisman returns to the genre with Mayfair Witches.

I’m really excited about this series! It’s created by Mike Flanagan, and it follows a family who decides to fix up an old house to flip it. But things quickly get strange – they start experiencing really creepy and mysterious events. Michiel Huisman plays the older version of one of the main characters, Steven Crain.

Since binge-watching The Haunting of Hill House, I’ve been keeping up with Michiel Huisman’s work. He was fantastic in The Flight Attendant – the whole cast even got a SAG nomination for their work on that show! I’ve also seen him in Echo 3, A Boy Called Christmas, and then he really went epic with Rebel Moon and its sequel, Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver.

I first really noticed Michiel Huisman when he was Daario Naharis on Game of Thrones, but it turns out he’s been in a lot of other great stuff! I knew he was familiar from Orphan Black, and I recently realized he was also in Nashville, Treme, Wild, and even World War Z. Of course, now I’m obsessed with him after Hill House!

The actor has joined the cast of Mayfair Witches, and the show’s third season will focus on the Salem Witch Trials. Filming began in October and is scheduled to finish in February 2026. There’s no confirmed release date yet.

With the first two seasons released in January 2023 and 2025, it’s likely fans won’t see season 3 of Mayfair Witches until late 2026 or early 2027.
