The TV show Boston Blue will continue to be broadcast in 2025, and CBS has already renewed it for a second season, indicating its likely longevity. Viewers are enjoying seeing Donnie Wahlberg reprise his role as Danny Reagan, now working a new job with the Boston Police Department and rebuilding his relationship with his son, Sean. While Sean was previously played by Andrew Terraciano on Blue Bloods, Mika Amonsen now plays the role in Boston Blue. Terraciano recently discussed the new series and whether he’s had a chance to watch it.
The creators of Boston Blue, Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier, have explained their decision to replace the actor playing Sean. They wanted to start the new series with the story already underway and demonstrate that time had passed since the original finale. Mark Wahlberg personally delivered the news to the actor, but fortunately, he’s been occupied with other projects. He recently told Us Weekly that he hasn’t even had a chance to watch the new show yet.
I haven’t had much free time lately. I’m currently working on my Master’s degree, which means I’ve had to stop watching most TV shows – unless they’re relevant to my studies.
A master’s degree is really demanding, so it’s understandable he hasn’t had time to watch Boston Blue yet. He’s got to prioritize his studies.
However, he also doesn’t want to miss out on Boston Blue, and is open to either watching the show or potentially being involved in it somehow down the line.
I’m committed to giving this the attention it needs. I told Donnie this over the phone – if he asks for my help, I’ll be there for him, not just with projects like Blue Bloods or Boston Blue, but in any situation life throws his way.
Andrew Terraciano, who played Danny’s youngest child on Blue Bloods for all 14 seasons, spent nearly half his life working on the show. It’s good to hear he’s leaving on good terms as a new actor takes over the role. He’s been busy with school and hasn’t had a chance to watch, which is understandable, but hopefully he’ll be able to catch an episode sometime soon.

Paramount+ lets you stream shows from CBS and more, with plans starting at $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year. You can eliminate ads for $12.99 a month. See the deal here.
On the show Boston Blue, Sean’s been involved in some interesting storylines during its first season. He shares a place with Jonah (Marcus Scribner) and has a potential new girlfriend, played by Xochitl Gomez, who has a past with the law. Back home, Danny is still adjusting to his son’s job as a police officer, and it’s been a struggle. With everything happening, it’s hard to predict what will happen next.
If you’re enjoying Will Terraciano as Sean Reagan, you can catch him in Blue Bloods with a Paramount+ subscription. The latest episode of Boston Blue airs on CBS on Friday, December 19th at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, and will be available to stream on Paramount+ the next day, along with all other episodes. There’s plenty more to come this season, including more appearances by Mika Amonsen as Sean.
