Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe Marks TV Return With First Look At His New NBC Series

Fans got a first glimpse of a famous actor from the Harry Potter films in the new NBC comedy, The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins. The show, created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, follows a former football star trying to rebuild his life and reputation after a downfall. It’s scheduled to premiere on February 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time.

Tracy Morgan, the beloved comedian, leads the cast of the new series The Rise and Fall of Reggie Dinkins, alongside Erika Alexander and Bobby Moynihan. The show reunites the team behind 30 Rock, including Morgan, Carlock, Means, and executive producer Tina Fey. According to Carlock, the character of Reggie Dinkins is essentially Tracy Morgan himself – a naturally funny, former athlete with good intentions.

Entertainment Weekly recently shared an exclusive first look at the new series, including interviews with the cast and crew. Daniel Radcliffe is expected to play a significant supporting role, helping Reggie Dinkins try to revive his career. When Morgan is kicked out of the NFL for gambling on a game he played in, he asks a famous documentary filmmaker (Radcliffe) to film his life. Morgan hopes the documentary will improve his public image while he attempts to repair relationships with his family and friends – including his ex-wife, a former teammate, his fiancée, and his son.

Morgan explains the show centers around what we leave behind. “Ultimately, that’s all that matters – what you pass on to your kids,” he says. “I hope in my own life, I’ve made people happy and given my children something positive to build upon.”

Though Morgan is well-known as a comedian and for his time on shows like Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, Daniel Radcliffe will likely always be remembered for playing Harry Potter. However, since the Harry Potter films ended, Radcliffe has consistently chosen challenging and interesting roles, and now, as HBO prepares a new Harry Potter TV series, his diverse career is really shining through.

Daniel Radcliffe is known for his roles in films like the quirky comedy Swiss Army Man (directed by the filmmaking duo “the Daniels”), Now You See Me 2, The Lost City, Guns Akimbo, and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
