Harry Potter TV Reboot Officially Casts New Hogwarts Students

The series has gained a new group of Hogwarts students. It also officially includes several well-loved characters from the original books.

The cast for Harry Potter was officially announced on March 5th on the website. Joining the Gryffindor team is Orson Matthews, who will play the energetic Quidditch captain, Oliver Wood. Asha Soetan will play Angelina Johnson, Eire Farrell will be Katie Bell, and Serrana Su-Ling Bliss will play Alicia Spinnet, also as members of the Quidditch team.

Everyone loves Lee Jordan, the energetic Quidditch commentator and close friend of Fred and George Weasley. Ethan Smith will be bringing him to life on screen.

Several new actors have joined the cast as Hufflepuff students. India Moon will play Hannah Abbott, James Trevelyan Buckle is Justin Finch-Fletchley—a Muggle-born student who was originally supposed to attend Eton—Cian Eagle-Service will portray Ernie MacMillan, and Jazmyn Lewin will play Susan Bones.

With the new Harry Potter series planned to run for a decade beginning in 2027, casting for major roles is already underway. Anjula Murali will play Padma Patil, a Ravenclaw student and the twin sister of Parvati Patil, who is in Gryffindor.

The cast also includes Aaron Zhao as Terry Boot, a Ravenclaw student in Harry’s year. Scarlett Archer will portray Penelope Clearwater, a character prominent in the books but absent from the films, and Eve Walls will play Lisa Turpin.

Slytherin House has announced several actors for the upcoming production. Notably, Laila Barwick will be playing Pansy Parkinson, a friend of Draco Malfoy.

Several Slytherin students contribute to the Quidditch team alongside captain Marcus Flint. Oliver Croft, D’Angelou Osei-Kissiedu, Graham Montague, and Dylan Heath play as Chasers, while Cornelius Brandreth is the Seeker and Eddison Burch is the Keeper, playing as Miles Bletchley. James Dowell and Henry Medhurst complete the team as Beaters, Lucian Bole and Peregrine Derrick respectively.

Harry Potter is expected to premiere on HBO and HBO Max in early 2027.
