Netflix is preparing to release more episodes of Guy Ritchie’s action-packed crime thriller very soon.
Netflix announced a second season of The Gentlemen in August 2024, following a successful first season that earned a 75% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Filming for the new season started in spring 2025 and finished in October.

Apparently, we can expect it to drop in fall 2026, and he hinted that it’s going to be a bit darker in tone. I saw the update on TikTok from Jasmine Valentine – definitely good news for fans like me!
Season two is finished! We’re currently editing it, and while there are still a few adjustments to make, it’s scheduled to be released in the fall. It’s a lot of fun, and while it still has humor, it’s a bit more intense and takes some unexpected turns.
When the show was renewed, James, along with his co-stars Kaya Scodelario and Daniel Ings, were all set to return. Director Ritchie and writer Matthew Read were also confirmed to be back. Ritchie expressed his excitement about filming Season 2 of The Gentlemen, telling Tudum that the new season would feature a bigger story and even more cast members.
This chapter moves the story to new locations, from the English countryside to the Italian lakes, and explores broader themes. Eddie and Susie are caught in a rapidly changing and dangerous situation, facing challenges from a host of mysterious new characters. As Richie explains, the tension is building, the balance of power is shifting, and he’s excited to be working with such a talented team again.
In a May 2024 interview with Deadline, actor James Horniman, who plays Eddie in The Gentlemen, shared his ideas for a potential season 2. He believes a new season needs a compelling central storyline, not just entertaining antics. While he acknowledges a return could be fun, he feels a strong narrative focus is crucial for the show’s continued success and will be the biggest creative hurdle to overcome.
Some critics feel Season 2 isn’t as strong as it could be. In a review from March 2024, ScreenRant described the season as less substantial than director Guy Ritchie’s previous films.
If you’re looking for a light and fun watch, you’ll probably enjoy The Gentlemen. Fans of Guy Ritchie’s movies might find the show a little less energetic than his films. And while it has enjoyable characters and storylines, it doesn’t quite deliver a consistently thrilling experience.
