Fresh images from the filming of the upcoming DC Studios movie, featuring Clayface, have been revealed while production is ongoing in Liverpool, England. This motion picture is scheduled to hit theaters on September 11, 2026, as part of DC Universe’s first chapter titled “Gods and Monsters.

Workers can be spotted transforming Liverpool’s New Brighton Fair into Gotham City’s Amusement Mile. Prior to this, the amusement park had appeared on the big screen in 2019’s Joker and 2020’s Birds of Prey.

The upcoming Clayface film is being helmed by director James Watkins, recognized for his expertise in horror films such as The Woman in Black (2012) and Speak No Evil (2024). Mike Flanagan, a renowned horror screenwriter, penned the script initially, while Hossein Amini was brought on to make some adjustments. The star-studded cast includes Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, Max Minghella, and Eddie Marsan. Upon hearing about Harries’ casting, James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, expressed that he and Matt Reeves were greatly impressed by his audition.

The main character in this DC production is famously recognized as the shape-shifting antagonist beloved by Batman fans. Set as a chilling body-horror narrative, the film’s plot revolves around a struggling actor who resorts to injecting himself with a special substance to maintain his relevance within the Hollywood scene.
